Ladies:

Now that my little one is 4 months old, my hair is in really bad shape. It might be due to any number of factors: 1. loosing allthat lovely thick preg hair. 2. not taking time to use products the way i once did. 3. our new apartment (our first winter here) puts out a ridiculous amount of dry heat.

any suggestions for a good easy to maintain cut? links with pictures would be appreciated.

more about me. I've got wavy shoulder length hair in a blunt cut. I've worn my hair in halle berry style pixie cuts and have grown it long for locks of love. either looks good.

I'm thinking of a long shag with very short bangs. what say you???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for your suggestions ladies. I ended up getting a reverse bowl after work, with side bangs. Its cute and low maintenance, and cuts a lot of wieght out of my heavy, shedding hair.

As an extra bonus, hubby reports that baby went to sleep at 6:45. I got home at 7:30 and had dinner with hub uninterrupted. The little angel slept till I woke him at 10pm for a top up feed. And was back to sleep without any effort.

I would find a good stylist and say, "This is what I need it to do" and let her try it. I went back to bangs, got some layers and went to shoulder length recently, to take advantage of my post-baby waves (go figure).

I just cut my hair back to real short. I love it, I spike it in the back, and it lays nice in the front, its quick, and something that looks well maintained even though I have a few minutes to get it done!

I cut a ton of hair off a few months ago after growing it for 2 years straight. I ended up going a little shorter than I had initially inteded so that I would have enough to donate to L.O.L. also. It ended up being a really cute longer bob, maybe halfway down my neck, with some face-framing layers. My hair is naturally wavy, but easily straightened or curled based on how I dry it so this style works well for someone like me who's a bit challenged on getting it to look good every day.

long shag with short bangs are very on trend. Thinking about doing that myself! This month's Allure mag has a good picture.

I'm a hair stylist, you sound like the perfect client! It's ahrd to tell what exactly whould look good without seeing your face shape or hair, but from your descriptions I think these would look cute and are minimal for styling.

Keep in mind, a razor may be used, but not too much as it will split the wave pattern. Razored hair needs to be cut more frequently than scissor cut hair.

For the dry heat, a humifidfier in your room could help, and so can deep conditioning products.

I'm thinking a wavy, longish shag with those short angled bangs similar to this:

I love my cut, the inverted bob, you can see my profile pic ... but I also can curl it with the curling iron (where you wrap it around the barrel not the traditional way) and I can do cute updos with it when it's raining or snowing and I do not want to deal with it.

I realized that in my pic you can't quite see the cut so here is a pic of the longer inverted bob

Here is a tutorial (on long hair) to do the curl style I am talking about

What I do love about doing my hair this way is that the next day all I have to do is touch it up and on my length of hair it only takes 15-20 min to curl it.
