Hair Salon Catering to Kids

I am looking for a hair salon that specializes in cutting kids' hair. We have decided to take our 20-month-old daughter for her first haircut and, knowing her personality, this will be a bit of a challenge I suspect.

In my initial searches, I have found businesses in South Broward County that cater to children, but I live in Deerfield Beach. Any suggestions on salons or just specific hairdressers who work well with the little ones in North Broward or Southern Palm Beach counties?

What can I do next?

Thanks for all the suggestions. We decided to take her to Sweet & Sassy and they did a nice job considering my daughter does not like her hair brushed much less sprayed with water and having scissors taken to it. I still can't believe they actually got her bangs straight, which is all I really wanted! Maybe when she gets older she'll appreciate the pampering.

I took my daughter to sweet and sassy, on 441 just N. of Hillsboro. She is a wiggle worm and she managed to get the most beautiful haircut by M.. She was 22 months when she got her haicut.

Go to Sweet N Sassy on 441 in Parkland. Miss Joanne is great. She is also a licensed preschool teacher. She taught my daughter at Discovery PreSchool. She left to go back to hairstyling. My daughter loves her . She is great with the children and is the greates hairstylist. Tell her Alexis referred you. Its right on 441 and Hillsborough.

Sweet and Sassy is not far from you. It is on State Road 7 just north of Hillsboro. They charge $20 for a first haircut and give a certificate, a lock of hair and I think a keepsake box of it.

Without a doubt: Snippedy-Doo-Dah's, which is on Boca Raton Blvd. (2nd Ave) in Boca raton, North of Glades and just S. of 20th Street, on the East side of the street. Our 2 year old and 4 year old both LOVE it there, (and they're boys)... Girls get the full-on Princess Treatment. Lot's of fun and they really know how to work with little ones.

I just gor my sons 1st haircut right around the same age. I took him to my dads stylist because they have the same hair and she always gives my dad and brother good cuts. Her name is Kim at incognito in Coral Springs. She doesn't charge for a first cut. But more importantly she listens to whet you say. She gave my son exactly what I wanted, and we will be using her in the future. She just moved to incognito, so on the off chance there's more than 1 Kim ask for the one who just came back. Piece of advice, if you have a portable DVD player I'd bring it, if your munchkin likes tv at all. I wish I had brought my sons. I gave him a lollipop, like his 3rd one ever, and he still got really antsy towards the end.
