Hair Removal - San Lorenzo,CA
Hello Moms!
I have a Mom with me who is not on Mamasource....yet. She was wondering about the site and I told her it's a good way to ask Moms out there for advice, concerns, thoughts, etc. So...her question is....how to remove upper lip hair? She has sensitive skin. Hopefully, she'll join Mamasource..soon! Thanks in advance!

I have fair, sensative skin as well. What I do is do a home waxing kit, use the wax removal lotion to make sure that all wax is off, make sure that I clean ALL of the wax removal lotion off with my facial soap, then put hydrocortisone cream (not ointment) on it. The HC cream makes it so my skin doen't turn bright red or break out.

I have skin sensitivities and did waxing and dealt with it's terrible outcome. It wasn't until I discovered threading and I was converted instantly. Now I have my upper lip and brows done by threading without the irritation from waxing.

If she wants it done permanently she can get electrolysis or laser treatments. Both aren't cheap - elect. runs approx. $35 for 15 mins., and laser probably starts at $100, but you can do a larger area. Laser usually is less effective on fine, light hair, so for upper lip elect. would be the best choice. It hurts some, but if she wants a permanent solution that's the way to go.
