Hair Growth on Face ( Chin Area)
I have always had dark thick hair growing on my chin area. Before my daughter was born, I had 7 treatements of laser done - it reduced the hair thickness a little. Once my daughter was born 3 years ago, the hair growth is out of control. Very thick and I have to wax every week. Scars are forming with lots of ingrown hair. Can anyone recommend a derm who can help me without the use of laser or electrolysis.

Sometimes facial hair growth in women is a sign of an underlying hormonal issue. Laser treatments alone may not be enough to control or stop the growth. I don't know your history but you might want to check this site out:

Dr. Lucy Li in Coppell is a great dermatologist.
But I would not do waxing anymore.
Try "threading". It doesn't cause damage to your face like waxing can and it pulls the hair from the root so there's no breakage and no ingrown hairs.
There's plenty of them around. I've gone to the one in Irving... they have other locations too.

I used to work for a doctor. The aesthetician(her name is Hope) did hair removal. I was SUPER SKEPTICAL but I had my bikini area done and haven't shaved in SEVEN YEARS! ALSO a second option: most women don't know that shaving your face really doesn't affect hair growth. When somone goes in to have a micropeel, the aesthetician uses a razor type implement to remove the dead skin & hair. When your hair does grow back, it only sticks out until it gets back to the orginal length and then lays down. I use a regular clean shaving razor and it's great. (I get a wild hair under the chin and a couple on side of face.) IF YOU WANT THE NAME OF MY AESTHETICIAN, let me know.
A little about me: I'm the grandma/caregiver/nanny to a precious 19month old boy.

I know it has been awhile since you sent in your request, but I was looking around on the mamasource sight, and I came across your posting. There is a medicine that helps by blocking some of the testosterone. A good Dermatologist can prescribe it to you. If you live anywhere near North Arlington, Dr. Angela Moore is off Lamar, near Collins.
