Hair Cut

I was wondering if anyone can recommend some where to take my 17 month old daughter for her first official hair cut. I live in Philadelphia but don't really want to pay $55 for it but I want someone that will be sweet. Is there any place especially for kids?

What can I do next?

Cookie Cutters in Chestnut Hill and Ardmore. They have cars to sit in and videos for the kids to watch. Slides, too. I paid $19.50 plus tip. I have also been to Supercuts - $10 plus tip.

Hi G.,

There is a place in Northeast Philadelphia called Wiggle Worms
Childrens Hair Studio. The address and phone number are 171 Byberry Road, Phila. 19116- ###-###-####.

My friends and I love this place. They have really cute chairs for the kids to sit in and televisions at every station. The staff is really nice. Not expensive at all. Hope this helps!

we used a place called wiggle worms for our son.He went for his first haircut at 9mo and they were great with him.
It is on byberry road past bustleton ave. There is alos another place called short cuts (I think it is on welsh rd that a couple of my friends have used. The haircuts average 10.00
Hope this helps

cookie cutters in chestnut hill. there is also one in ardmore and worth the trip.

I would recommend Ruth Daneman's Hair Salon in South Philadelphia. They are a neighborhood salon, very homey atmosphere, they have an adorable cat they adopted (or it adopted them) from the neighborhood & are all very sweet. Erin Anderson is the owner & is a young, super sweet woman. My son is 19 so I don't have a young one anymore to attest to their abilities with young kids but assume since they are a neighborhood salon they have the experience. My son & I travel there from Jersey cause we like what they do & are so comfortable there. But give them a call, stop in & have a chat to see how you feel, Google them for reviews: 1728 E Passyunk Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19148 ###-###-####

Yes, Kids Cuts in the NE on Grant Avenue right past Krewstown or Wiggle Worms on Philmont and Byberry Roads or Cookie Cutters in Chestnut Hill.

Cookie Cutters is in Ardmore, and I think there is one in Manayunk too. They're nice and its all for kids. About $20.

I know there is a place here in North Wilmington that actually does the child's first hair cut for free. I believe their name is Headquarters. Maybe you could call around to some of the places in your neighborhood and see if any of them offer the same deal.

Wow $55!

Not in Philly, but Kids Kuts in the Marple Cross Roads Shopping Center in Marple is geared totally towards kids and only charges about $12 for a cut...
