Call Jennifer Farris at Salons Unique ###-###-####. Located at 15th and Custer in SW corner. She has been doing my hair over ten years in Plano and you will not be able to beat her prices for haircuts or highlighting. She does beautiful work and is a delight to know. Call her and get a price for what you need. I know her foil highlights are $65 and believe it includes the haircut and little higher if you have extremely long hair. Her cap highlights are $45 and include the haircut too.

I noticed you already had a referral to Hair Expose' in Carrollton, but I second that recommendation. Michelle Thompson, the owner, has had that location for almost 20 years and for the past 6 years has cut and colored mine and my daughters hair and is fantastic....good luck with your mission and calling....

Hi M.,
I also have very curly, thick hair! I go to Jennifer Blackburn at Seventeen Salon in Plano. It's not cheap, but with a haircut from her, I can go 3 months or so between haircuts if I want to. Haircuts can be scary for us curly girls, and she is a great listener about what you want! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I know this will sound crazy, but I started going to a lady at the JCPenney at Collin Creek Mall. I first went to her to fix a mess-up from another high end salon and it was great. i've been going to her ever since then. i sent another friend to her that was very skeptical/nervous but had just moved to the area and she really liked her too. i have very thick fine wavy long hair and to highlight, wash, cut, style is a little over 100. Her name is Lisa. If you go, tell her you were referred by J. Fletcher and she'll give you a discount! (they have a referral discount program)

Hi Michelle,
I have a great hair stylist in Carrollton. Amy @ Hair Expose'. She has been doing my hair for about 5 years now, my husbands for about 9 and cuts both my daughters hair-- they are 4 and 5 in age. Give her a try, I have referred several people to her and they all love her.

I go to Holli Chandler. ###-###-#### . She is in Plano in a shopping center next to Willow Bend. I think there is a Micheal's next to it. It is called Salon Boutique. She is very good. She is fast too. You aren't there for hours; I am in and out in one hour for cut and highlight and blowdry. I think my hair cut is $35 and I don't know how much highlights are. I usually just get my crown done and not all over, so I have never spent more than $90 for a haircut and highlight together. I have so many friends going there because they all like my hair. You may have to play phone tag to get your first appt., but it is worth it.

Hi M.,
I was referred to a place called The styling hutch from another mamasource mom. Here's their website http://www.stylinghutch.com/
They're a little expensive, but not outrageous. It's worth it though. All their stylists specialize in curly hair and have been trained by a curly hair professional in NY. I loved it!

Shel,
Have you tried Hairquarters close by my house? They're in the shopping center on the SW Corner of Marsh and Spring Valley. Chris and I have started going to them, and they do a great job! We were referred by friends whom we trust very much, and they just did a color job on Marilyn that I absolutely LOVE!! (not sure what the charge is for coloring, though, but never hurts to ask).
Give me a call...
~J.~
