Hair Clips That Stay In!

Hi! I'm looking for some recommendations for hair clips (barrettes) that stay in very fine/thin hair. My 4 year old constantly looks shaggy and her hair always gets in her face. I haven't found anything good yet. It looks like my 1 year old daughter is on track to have the same hair type as her sister! Any advice would be great!

What can I do next?

Try the bows that have backs similiar to that of a zip lock baggy top you can find those just about anywhere. for pony tales use the small plastic rubber bands that are normally used for braiding, they come about a 100 to a bag for about .99 cents. bobby pins of course always work. if there is a sally's beauty supply near you it would be good to check it because they have all types of options and the cost is very reasonable if not extremely cheap.

Bobby pins work well for us, but arent as cute. The Goodie brand barrettes, the oval shaped ones that just click open and shut when you push on them work the best for us. They stay very well and they have pretty ones.

My daughter has an inverted bob with the back stacked too. It is easy to take care of and is cute. We can still put both sides up in ponies...I use the little soft ponytail holders and then I put a gymboree corky clip in near where the ponytail starts. They stay in really well and the gymboree clips are cute and colorful and aren't very expensive ($5.00 or so per pair but almost always buy one get one 1/2 off)
I used to use the little tiny rubberbands and those worked really well - they were harder for me to put in and take out and she got kind of fussy about them.

J.,

I was going to recommend the velcro or zip lock type barretts. I've never tried the ones from Goody but it is definately worth a try! Good luck!

I have this same problem and take a chunk up hair I want to put in a clip and I twist the hair a bit and then put the clip in that works sometimes or I have found one brand of clips that work awesome. I can email you a picture if you want. It's hard to explain they are in the "adult" end of hair things not the kids side. They are Goody Brand and kinda oval shaped and are the earthy tone colors. They NEVER come out and work awesome! When you put them in you kind of snap them down that's how they work. Sometimes I have a slight problem getting them out but I don't mind. I also when using pony's use those small little one's but I use the ones made out of rubberbands not the plastic ones. They are mini tiny rubberbands in multi colors and those never come out either. I also have my daughter's hair cut in a inverted bob so it's chin length and goes down on a angle towards her face and the back is stacked it's super cute, we get compliments everywhere and her thin hair actually looks thick with this hair cut and doesn't drive me nuts trying to deal with it. I will grow it out when it's not super thin or fine but for now this works perfect. Also I've had good luck with Gymboree's hair bows. Also if your doing pictures or something special and want something to stay in goob up a chunk of hair with vaseline just where the barette would hide it.

the Goodie brand are the best but don't get the kind with any plastic covering because they don't work but the plain metal ones work really well I have a 4yr old who has the same unruly hair.

I don't know the name, but at Walmart I bought these little plastic rubber bands that work great for thin hair. I cut them out of my daughters hair when we are done using them so i am not pulling out her hair.
