Hello,
I shall really appreciate everyones help in this matter. I am 28 year married woman who was recently diagnosed with being perimenopausal. I did talk to a RE about it and she seemed to be intent on doing egg donor procedure . My question is has anyone faced a similar problem ? If yes, how was it handled? My husband and I are very interested in trying IUI ( unmedicated since the RE told me I am a very poor candidate for fertility drugs) for at least 3-4 times and then move to egg donor. I am looking for a RE who will give a fair try with my own egg then move on to another. I really look forward to names of RE with whom you have had good experience with and any other suggestions.

Thanks a bunch

So What Happened?

Thanks a lot for giving your time and help. We have decided to change our RE . On the 20th I am going to another RE for patient consultation and let us see what he says. Meanwhile I am looking to start an acupuncturist treatment to be healthy emotionally before I do any of the procedure. I really cannot express the gratitude I feel towards all of you. I will definitely keep you all posted.

Thanks,
A.

Get a second opinion. I have had 6 miscarriages and am now pregnant with my first baby. I love my fertility dr and he is one of the best in the country.

I don't know about your specific issue, but I struggled with infertility for 2 years. My recommendation would be to get a second opinion on treatment. I loved my doctor (and so did several of my friends). He gave us his professional opinion, but ultimately left the treatment choice up to us and would put every effort into my wishes. We wanted to do IUI SEVERAL times more than he did before moving to IVF. He worked with us and we now have 2 girls. It is Dr. Le in Las Colinas at 635/MacArthur. Below is a link to his website.

Hi A. -
I was diagnosed with perimenopausal at 38 but started having symptoms around 28. I had the egg donor procedure done at the Bedford clinic (Dr. Moody). It didn't take and it's a long and painful journey. We ended up adopting a precious baby boy. But...you are still young and here is my advice to you - Get another opinion, and another opinion, before you do the egg donor! Please call Dr. Woodward @ ###-###-#### and have him test you. Several other doctors wouldn't even test me because of Dr. Moody's diagnosis, and Dr. Moody wouldn't even try IUI - but Dr. Woodward was willing - I actually had some good fertile blood test results, but then our adoption went through so I didn't finish all the testing - but he said he really didn't think I was truly perimenopausal - so I am considering going back. He is highly regarded in the hormonal field (not great bed-side manner - pretty old) - but please take my advice before you try the egg donor route.

Hi A.,

Getting on a natural progesterone cream can kick you back out of perimenopause also getting on nutritional supplements for your adrenal glands will help. Stress, birth control pills, hormone therapy can get your body out of balance. Books by Dr. John Lee - "What Your Doctor May not Have told you About Menopause" or his about Perimenopause will give you a lot of information. I use it a lot with patients in my office and it works tremendously. Feel free to call ###-###-#### or email me if you have any questions.

I was 28 years old when my husband and I started trying to get pregnant. I will spare you my journey details, but 7 years later we very sadly just accepted that having a family was not in our cards. But I have a happy ending.... at 38 y.o. my husband and I celebrated our 15 yr wedding ann. in Maui and came home to learn that we had conceived. I now have an amazing, beautiful 2 yr old son.
How does this help you??? I can relate to what I am sure you are going through. Along the way I became passionate about using natural products and being aware of everything that I did to my body and went into my body. As a result of that I found Arbonne International and their amazing products. The company and the products have changed my life in more ways than I am sure you care to know. We have the most incredible Natural Balancing Cremes that are helping women with perimenopausal symptoms and even fertility issues. Please mention this Mamasource site when you order (or call and order straight through me) and I will pay your shipping and handling costs.
I am happy to let you sample our other products as well. I look forward to hearing from you.
