Gripe Water - Prosper,TX
Anyone heard of it? My pediatrician advised using it to calm my baby boy's gas. Just curious what any of you thought about it.
So What Happened?™
Ok, let me start with saying Thank You to everyone who so promptly responded. I went with the Colic Ease. I found it at the Health Food Store in Frisco and went and picked it up yesterday evening. After giving Kane the first dose we noticed within 20 minutes a difference. Ive given 2 doses today and things are still rocking along just great. I am so glad that I became a member and so fortunate for all of you. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

I wholeheartedly second the Colic Ease brand gripe water. http://www.colicease.com. Very informative site that explains the difference between the brands out there and what each ingredient of this specific formulation does. I used this on my daughter for reflux pains, and later we discovered it works for adults too with nausea and indigestion. Best of all, it doesn't require refrigeration and is fairly pleasant tasting compared to some on the market.
Locally, you can buy it at the Family Health Market on Preston in Frisco.
I swear by this stuff. Good luck!

Gripe water is a natural reliever for gas bubbles. You can buy it any health food store and maybe even at Walmart or Target(not sure). It's really easy on there stomach and it worked wonders for my twins. I just added it to their formula and if they had really bad gas, I would give them a couple drops directly.

Gripe water saved my sanity!! My son used it w/ every feeding for the first 4 months. He was breast-fed, but still very gassy and spit up alot. I changed my diet to cut the common culprits to help reduce his gas, but he still was very fussy starting about 30 minutes after eating until he finished passing the gas. I tried several gripe waters, and found one that worked really well. Our best brand was Colic Ease. I got it online---just do a search. If you try one and it doesn't work, I would encourage you to try another brand. They are all a little bit different in their ingredients, and one will work better than others for your baby. Health food stores carry them, or you can find them online. Some baby/maternity stores carry them, too.

Be careful when purchasing this. The Baby Bliss Gripe Water has been recalled. Check out the FDA's website.

T.,
Yes Gripe Water is a great invention. It worked wonderfully for my little one...calmed her down within minutes. I think there are a few out there now with different brand names. Baby Bliss "Gripe Water" is the one I used. I highly recommend it...Hope it works as great for you as it did for us!

I posted a question about this a little while back (look up my question if you can find it under "alternative medicine"). Basicly what I found and bought was Colic Ease (the brand name-bought on the web)-look up it's web page and read the info:very informative! I personally thought it was way subperp compared to the others and I had priovously bought one other brand and didn't like it!
And yes, I do think it really worked, at least a bit but bit is better than none and I have really fussy newborns!

We used it for my youngest daughter's colic and even gave it to our oldest for teething. I think it helped her a lot. It's not a miracle cure for colic but it does help.

Hi Tammy,
I get my gripe water from Sweet Repeats on Nacogdoches and 1604. I don't know if that is close to you or not, but I know that the brand that she has works. I also use humphries "3" teething tablets, for gas as well. It is safe for infants and even if your child takes the whole bottle it will not over dose them. That is according to posion control. ( my 2 1/2 yr old son at an entire bottle). You might ask your MD about it and see what he thinks. Good luck, I know how hard a baby with gas can be!

I know this is an old post, but, I just wanted to add that the last time I was in our Tom Thumb, they had gripe water.
