I am a pregnant mother of a busy 2 y.o. looking for a kid-friendly vacation spot in October for our birthdays. We would prefer a warm spot no far (4 hr plane ride max from Philly preferably). Any ideas? Thanks,K.

What can I do next?

Hi K. - I own a home based travel agency (Imagine Travel located in Oreland) and agree that Puerto Rico might be a good choice, but I would also suggest the Riviera Maya area in Mexico (fly into Cancun). If you want more information, please give me a call at ###-###-####. Thanks. Carol Wilson

October is a great time to go to Disney. I've gone twice in October/November in the past and found it to be not too crowded, weather stays in the 80's during the day and no cooler than 60's at night. Lines aren't too long and if you don't want to spend a lot of money, you can stay at a hotel outside the park.

Aruba is a 4 hr. flight from Philly and is wonderful! There is a family friendly resort (I can't remember the name). I know it's sister resort is called the Divi Divi. Good luck!

Hi K.,

My number 1 pick would be Puerto Rico. If you are having a "good" pregnancy and are fairly comfortable, it's a great getaway. There are lots of wonderful beaches, playgrounds, rainforest walks, scenic drives, old San Juan forts and a full range of accommodations many of which include pools. Check out www.gotopuertorico.com. We've had good luck renting a small home or condo which gives you kitchen and laundry facilities. The prices are in line with good hotels. Check out www.vrbo.com and www.homeaway.com for home rentals.

I also love www.tripadvisor.com for traveler reviews of hotels.

Have a great time planning.

have you looked into going to Puerto Ricco? I just came back from there, it was nice. I know that it is warm there the whole year around
