We love the Douglas School District. We've used both the school district and Child Find. We're very pleased with both. Our boys are enrolled in one of the Charter schools here, and we could not be happier. There are a lot of different options here, too. Cherry Creek is probably pretty good, and I know a lot of families in Littleton Public Schools, although most use the Charter Schools through 8th grade, but they are all happy.

My daughters attend Dennison Elementary in Jeffco and LOVE it--it is a lottery system to get in.

Washinton Park and the area around DU, yet both are relatively expensive and growing higher.

I have to tell you I live here:
Washinton Park and the area around DU, yet both are relatively expensive and growing higher.

and the schools there are HORRIBLE. They could not be worse. This was the wrong answer, absolutely!! We have our house on the market to move to Ken Caryl - excellent Jeffco schools. I hear Jeffco is good in general, and some Cherry Creek schools are good. Generally Colorado schools are not great - so you are comparing to a lower bar from the first place.

I have a good friend in Broomfield, he is happy with his schools there.

Good luck.

Littleton Public Schools!

Littleton is a relatively small district with a wonderful reputation. There are many award winning schools within the district and both the school board and superintendent are forward thinkers. The community is quite supportive of the district as well. You can check out their website at www.littletonpublicschools.net.

We have three children in the district at the elementary and middle school levels and are exactly where we want to be.

You should check out
Douglas County
Boulder Valley
Adams 12
Jeffco
Cherry Creek

All the districts are making cuts like CRAZY (as I'm sure they are everywhere else) and every district has good schools/not so good schools, but these 5 districts are ones that generally have a pretty "good" reputations.

Districts whose reputations are not as good are Adams 50, Mapleton, Aurora, Denver. I don't mean to be biased or steer you in a wrong direction, but these are districts that don't have "great" reputations (IMO.) I have lived in Parker, Castle Rock, Broomfield, and Littleton, and I would move to any of these places (with my children) again.

The best are probably Cherry Creek and Douglas County. However, there are great and bad schools in each district. We live in Cherry Creek. Of the 3 elementary schools that service our middle school, two are fantastic (top 25/top 100 in Colorado), and the other barely cracks the top half. Here's a website that may help you:

http://www.schooldigger.com/go/CO/schoolrank.aspx

you can pick elementary, middle or high school and get the relative rankings for all schools.
