Great Mascara

Does anyone have a recommendation for a great water-proof mascara? I wear contacts so I really need a non-flaking product. I'd like water-proof in order to help avoid the raccoon eyes look. It would be great if I could remove it with just soap and water but I would certainly consider one that needs a special remover.

Thanks,

M.

I like Maybelline Great Lash in waterproof. I've had good luck using it at the pool. You still have to refluff the lashes a bit afterward with a Kleenex to get them to unbind from one another, but the mascara stays on. I remove it easily with cold cream.

Lancome makes nice waterproof ones. Try Clinique if you want to spend a bit less!

I have used the cover girl "profession" purple mascara (not the newer fat one, it is one of the original ones) for YEARS. It is called "washable waterproof" so it comes off easily with soap and water but does not flake or run under your eyes. Cheap too! :)

Great Lash is awesome. I use coconut oil to remove all of my makeup.

Well, I'm not so sure about a specific brand... I just wanted to say that you can buy a bottle of vitamin e oil fairly cheaply and use that as an eye makeup remover. It works pretty well, and it is great for your skin and eyelashes. :)

I use ELF - it's cheap and doesn't make my eyes itch.

I love Clinique. I use the primer first then the high impact in the fat silver tube.

It's not that pricey compared to some others I've used and liked (Dior primer and mascara). I pay about $30 for both compared to $30+ for 1 Dior product!

This is not waterproof but I have no issues with flaky of raccoon.

The absolute best I have found is by the brand Too Faced, it is called Pin Point Lash Injection at Sephora or Beauty.com. It's not cheap ($20) and it needs to be replaced every 3 to 4 months. It does not say it is waterproof, but I have never had it flake or come off in the water or otherwise. It is different than most mascaras (you will have to get used to how to apply it). It coats each lash in a little tube. Comes off with soap and water in complete tubes. I usually just soap up my eyes in the shower and rinse and then just pull them off, it is kind of rubbery. I had to play with it for a while to get it applied without it looking goopy but it looks great on me and makes my lashes so much longer as they are pretty short. It actually smells good, too. Good luck!

L'Oreal Double Extend mascara is great. It doesn't run. You remove it with plain water and rubbing intentionally with a cloth. If you're in the water and don't rub hard at your eyes, it won't come off.

There are two sides to the mascara. One is a white base layer conditioner. I don't use it.
