Greasy Carpet Mess
Yuck. My dog got into bacon grease last night and puked all over the carpet. It's bad enough to clean up ordinary dog puke, but this is greasy. I have tried "Out" Pet stain and odor removal and just ordinary dish detergent. I also have a Dirt Devil hand held carpet cleaner that extracts the fluid from the carpet Most of it is out, but there is still a stain. What else can I use to remove the stain.

So What Happened?™
I ended up using the Spot Shot since it seemed to be mentioned by more people. It did a pretty good job of getting the stains out. I even used it on a couple of old stains with good results. Thanks to everyone that responded. I enjoyed reading about other experiences out there and I appreciate the sympathy that I felt coming from you all!

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Poor S.! I feel for you! Really! That is no fun! Aren't pets grand? I love mine but sometimes, oh my! Here's a story to make you feel better about your stain: When my son was in the hospital this winter my teenage daughter called up there to tell me that our dear little (Insert curse word here) Jack Russell Terror (oops I mean TERRIER) got into a walmart sack of year old easter candy, long forgotten in our closet, and she ate ALL the candy - wrappers and all - then puked and crapped ALL over our bedroom. Thank you for that welcome home!!! Alot of mess!!! It was more puke and poo than carpet let me tell you. It was awful. I swear by Resolve (It is the POWDER one sold at walmart that has a brush attached to it). It works for me really well. BUT, for grease I don't know it might work but just in case not, I went to my favorite little "help me" cleaning site. Here it is and there is stuff on there about getting grease out of carpet. Yay! Here's the link: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf466377.tip.html.
Hope you get it out! I am sure you will find something that will work! Good luck!!!

Try Spot Shot. It is in a spray can with an orange lid and you can find it at Walmart.

There is a product called purple power, it's sold at auto part stores (Andvanced) used to clean auto-parts etc.. It works amazing on any grease related cleaning chores. The great thing about it is it's cheap..gallon jug @$5.00 and concentrated. Terrific to dilute in a spray bottle to clean kitchen counters, stove and the best ever for bathtub and toilet too.
I have used it many times for various pet stains and grease on carpet.
Good Luck !

Spot Shot always works for us. My husband trekked in oil from our driveway once... all over our WHITE carpet. Spot Shot cleaned it up, and you couldn't even tell it was ever there.

I'm assuming that your carpet is light in color. Oxyclean has a great carpet cleaner that we use with our dog and the boy I watch who had really bad reflux. It helped our carpet from looking so bad and did get most of the stains out. Good Luck and God Bless.

Try using some windex. My fiance used to clean carpets and it works for a bunch of stuff in the carpet. I have used it for everything from pet stains to crayon on a carseat. I hope this works for you.
