Gotta Lose This Baby Fat!!!

My son is going to be 9 months old soon and I can't stand my jelly belly anymore! What are some good ways to get rid of my belly butt, thigh, well pretty much everything! The main problem I run into is not having ANY time. I tried walking at night but there is always something stopping us - either my son needs to eat, falls asleep or it's too cold/hot. Need something I can do at home. I really want to get in shape (at least better shape!) before my office christmas party! HELP :)

What can I do next?

Im going through the same..my baby is almost 9 months and im toooooo fat right now. My aunt and i have started Denise Austin about 3/4 weeks ago. I feel more energized I havent seen a drastic drop in weight but hey the energy is great. I have DVR so i record since i dont want to get up at 6am and then around 10 every morning she comes over and we do it...Plus you get to fast forward through the commercials..so try Denise Austin she is on lifetime at 6am central time. I just keep thinking to myself i want to have a body like her!!!!!!

If you can financially afford it I would say to get some kind of an exercise machine. I have an elliptical machine that is in front of my tv and I watch a movie while I exercise. It helps keep my mind off of what I am actually doing, lol.

well lets start by eating better the best thing I did was I took flour and sugar out of my diet with Dr.Gotts no sugar no flour diet I am telling you it works great at first it is hard but well worth it ok if that is not an option reverse crunches and bridge are the best for belly baby fat lay on you back feet flat on floor knees bent lift your hips to the ceiling and hold for 30 seconds do this about 25 times. For crunches lay on your back and bring your knees to your chest this works even better if your are on a weight bench at an incline. To get your belly back in shape you have to strengthen your lower back which in turn pulls in your stomach muscles and makes for a tight tummy. Just get moving and if you are on the floor doing simple exercises your boy can be right there with you. I use to lay on my back and bend my knees up to my chest and have the kids lay across my chins then I would lift them to the sky talk about work out. http://www.womenfitness.net Check out this site for more help.

Hi S.,
As a first time mom with a 17 month old baby who never slows down to give me a minute to catch my breath, it's tough to work in exercise. I gained 65 lbs with my pregnancy & I've lost all of it (and then some) with just a few simple changes to the way I eat. I tend to snack throughout the day now (just like my daughter) and rarely eat a lot in one sitting. I found that once you stop eating the "convenience" foods & cook regular meals every night, it's so much easier to eat healthy. My daughter's health is my motivation (after a long day at work) to get in the kitchen & whip up something healthy for the family. It's not always easy, but it has definitely paid off in pounds lost. Also, as someone who is slightly addicted to exercising, I have to say that if you're wanting to lose the weight quickly, that is the major way to do so. I just added back my gym routine a few months ago & I am finding that I'm losing weight without even trying now. I only do about 20 min of cardio 2-3 times per week & that's all that's really needed to get your metabolism jump started. If you go that route, make sure you're doing an intensive 20 min (i.e. fast walk or eliptical) to really feel the difference. I wish you luck & know exactly where you are right now. I don't think it's ever possible to get rid of the jelly belly though. I've seen size 4 women with that jiggle :o)

Hi S.,

I guess most woman have this same issue after having kids. I just had my fourth baby and I do understand how hard it is to find time to exercise but one thing I've learned is that you need to find time for yourself. You will be a better mom when you've had time to get out and do something good for your body. You'll feel better too. Here are some suggestions: Could you join the Y where they have childcare available? If not, jogging strollers are great for walking, jogging or rollerblading with your little guy. And work out videos are great too if you can't leave the house. You can do one while your baby sleeps. I hope this is helpful for you and good luck!!

I used the exercise ball. My husband noticed that I was not so jiggly around the middle. It works great and fast. You can get videos for only 20 minutes workouts. Or Pilates is another great way to lose the weight. hope that helps.

First off I hope you are doing great! I don't want to toot my company's horn, but I am with Arbonne International and in Jan we just released a new drink. It gives you energy, is all natural, helps you burn the fat and supresses appetite...working out is GREAT! And I do it too, but this stuff is great. It's a lemon-lime flavor and you just pop these fizzy pills into a water bottle let disolve and wala...

It's tough. I still have baby weight from my 3rd kid and he is 6! So there is no excuse. I am using this to help me lose my goal of 50 pounds this year! I am determined because I am tired of being out of breath and I want to be that "hot" mama I was when my hubby married me! Ya know! hehee...
Anyway, if you would like info, just email me!

I lost my weight by tae bo and eating a well balanced diet. Although i understand time gets short so what i did was arranged for a friend or family member to come over after my son fell asleep to watch him so i could go for my run or weight train. Im very athletic so i did multiple types of exercise and that really helped me stay motivated with it!

Hi S....I completely understand what your saying. I just had my son 6 months ago and it's driving me crazy. I started doing weight watchers again. It really does work good...you can either attend meetings or do it on-line if you don't have time for the meetings. I've done it both ways in the past but I really feel that the actual meetings help keep me motivated. So it might be something you want to check into. They have a website:

Good Luck!

I use the "3-Day Diet" whenever I need to burn some flab. There is a lot flack about the diet. But you are only on it for 3 days and then you eat normal for 4 without over doing it. Drink plenty of water, that is the key to any weight loss. Plus the exercise, you just have to make the time.

With my first pregnancy I gained at least 60 pounds. Afterwards I did mat pilates (it was a 20 minute video) and cardio (at least 20 minutes where I did 5 min. warm up and then would do 2 min. pedaling as hard as I could and 2 min. recovering) on an exercise bike. I did them at least 3 times a week. I tried to do them the same day but couldn't always. I also did yoga for weight loss but couldn't always get through that because it was a 60 min. video and we had sleep issues with my first son. I lost the 60 pounds and an additional 20. Good luck! I have horrible motivation now after my second son. I weigh more now than I did at the end of my second pregnancy. I keep figuring that once my youngest is a bit more tame I will have more energy and time.

Hi S.! I have found that the best time to work out is in the morning, before my daugther wakes up. It is just something that you have to make a priority and drag yourself out of bed to do it. I get up at 5:00 and ride the stationary bike or go running for 30-45 minutes, and I'm home and out of the shower before she wakes up. Good luck! -S.

You should try Baby Boot Camp. I have a 10-month-old and I had the same problem...I couldn't find time to exercise without the baby! With Baby Boot Camp you bring your baby to class in a stroller and do a full body workout (55 minutes). Check out www.babybootcamp.com for more info. I have been doing classes for 2 months (3 times a week) and I now weigh less than before I got pregnant. You can email me directly if you would like. As far as something you can do at home, check out collagevideo.com. You can preview different videos to see what you may like.

I know how you feel. I have a 3 year old and I'm still trying to figure out a good way to work off my baby fat without having to do something outside. The only thing I can really think of is aerobics or tae bo or if you are into video games there's a game for PS2 called Dance Dance Revolution.

Hi S.,
give Steppin' To Health a call ###-###-####, its a free trial on both of their machines. I do the Power Plate 2 to 3 times a week, it's a 10 minute workout, that yields more strength training then an hour and a half at the gym! I lost 9 inches my first month and lost over 4o pounds in less then 3 months. It is amazing, they are friendly and their is a kid area and toys to play with while you do your short workout. Trainers are free!

Walk away the pounds is another good thing, especially if you like walking. You can rent these videos from Blockbuster online if you have that service, that way you can change it up whenever as well.

Also if you have cable and the on-demand channels, they have exercise programs there too.
