Good Umbrella Stroller for a 3 Year Old

I am looking for a good umbrella stroller for a 3 year old girl. She is about 30 lb and is quite tall. I want something that can recline, is lightweight, has a good size canopy and is very easy to steer on pavements, downtown basically uneven surfaces. If there is a basket underneath, that would be a plus. I currently have a Chicco liteway stroller and it has all the features except that it is very difficult to maneuver specially is there are a little bumps on the road and is also a little heavy to push. My daughter loves sitting in the stroller and I am hoping to use it for at least 2 more years. I was thinking something under $150 would be good.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks ladies. Since everyone raved about Maclaren. I ended up getting the Maclaren Triumph and can't wait to use it this weekend. I needed some recline, hence chose to forgo Volo.

Maclaren all the way ! I live in southern France, with narrow streets, having to steer away from dog poop all the time. I have used the same Quest for both our kids (with a canopy). For a lighter weight there is the Volo (no canopy but cheaper).

I'm very happy with my Maclaren stroller, too. We have the Quest. My son is 4 years old and 43 lbs, 43" and he still fits in it. It steers well and has a decent basket underneath.

Have you looked at Baby Planet strollers?? They are more expensive, but you could find one used for about 170 or so. If you are willing to compromise some of the features, the best bang for your buck is the Maclaren- Volo style. Its about 100 bucks and holds up to 55 lbs!!! Really built well and cute to boot! GL

I second a MacLaren. Its the only umbrella stroller my huge 3 year old will still fit in and it's still in great shape. We have the techno XL or something since we got it when he was born but they have a few other models that are less expensive. That being said, with my 3 year old in it it's heavy to push but I think pushing anything with a 30-40 pound toddler in unless it's a jogger is going to be heavy.

we love our aprica loft ($120 on amazon). it is super easy to handle and it also has suspension shocks (though not as great as our uppababy vista :)) it reclines quite a bit (which is why we looked at it to begin with). oh and the front wheels lock to make it easier in bumpy surfaces.

its light (13lbs). the child sits high (away from fumes unlike the maclaren). it has a good canopy and a basket underneath. my husband is tall and the handles are perfect for both of us. though they are separate so you cant push with one hand (that is the only thing i don't like). and it handles kids up to 70 lbs. check it out. we love ours.
