Good Start Formula Question

I had my son on the liquid Good Start, the comfort proteins sold me on the product. He did very well and I was pleased. The one you are speaking of was not available one year ago, but like I said the comfort proteins in the original worked well. The Natural Cultures is all the hype now, with Dan Active and all.

I have used the orange can of Good Start (DHA ARA) with my first son after using a barrage of other brands which all made him sick. I also used the Natural Cultures with my new one. Unfortunately when my hubby got layed off we had to go on WIC and the only one we can get now is Gentlease. My son hated the Gentlease and we had to gradually mix the food to switch him over. If I had my druthers, I'd still be using the Natural Cultures. With it being so expensive you could mix a can of the Natural Cultures with a can of the regular orange. I used a wisk to mix the two together good.
Benefits are long term so hard to gauge whether it is a marketing technique or really better fromula.

Even though I breastfeed my 8month daughter, I have used the Good Start Supreme Natural Cultures early on for various reasons. Not often, but just once in awhile. My daughter had no problems with it and took it readily. I haven't had a need to use any formula in about 4 months...but when I did, that is what I used.

Hi, I have several friends who use that formula and love it, they haven't had any issues because of it.I used it for a few weeks with my son but had to switch due to his reflux. I liked it while I used it.

You may want to switch to a different brand if it is hard to locate. I use the Walmart brand and compared the ingredients to Similiac and they were the same and I pay 1/2 the price. I wish I would have done that with my first born. I grew up in Trenton!

My daughter is currently 10 months old, but her pediatrician recommended the Supreme Natural Cultures formula for us when she was born. We used it until she was about 5 months old. She started having constipation issues and we switched to Enfamil's Gentlease brand. My daughter has a muscular disorder which causes her constipation, not the formula. I liked it while she was on it.

i used the normal good start and loved it.

My husband and I enjoy the outdoors as well as fishing. We have a eight month old and live in the Redford area. We go walking at Claude Allison Park on Beech Daly between six and seven mile rds. Send me a note if you ever want to get together and go walking together.

my best friend uses it, loves it. I also have a friend at work i turned her onto it also. My son used similac(aweful) i wish i had'nt been so afraid to try something else. He had huge belly problems till he was about 6mos. 1st baby, i had no idea. My daughter on the other hand used nestle carnation good start regular dha, no problems at all great sleeper. I really did'nt know much about the natural cultures. It was not out yet till my daughter was about 11mos. My best friend was on similac from the hopital, with her son and used it for about 2 mos, had problems, switched to this and viola all better. I have about 50 free coupons for the smaller cans ($15.00 ones). I bought them at a discount through my moms company. I paid $7.00/coupon. I gave my best friend a bunch and the girl at my work. And i had so many that i can't use the rest, if your interested let me know. ( i got them as a promo, my moms work does that once in a while on new stuff. I bought them with my best friends mom and a few others as her shower gift ( would'nt we all like free formula for a year)ha ha anyway try it and let me know. I can't use them anymore. They're good till dec 08. I will sell them to you for($200.00) that's 150.00 less than what i paid theres 50 left. It will save you $550.00 (15.00x50cans= 750.00)i hope that helps. If you want i will give you a couple for free just to try it. We all know how pricey formula can be and hey i can't use them so i would love to help someone else out.

You may want to reconsider the use of powdered formula of any kind. As was tragically demonstrated last year, if the powder becomes contaminated in any way, at any point after being powdered, there is no way to make it safe again. It can't be re-sterilized as powder without lighting it on fire, and you can't boil it lest you destroy many of the nutrients (and possibly accidentally make pudding or something weird out of it).

I know the powder is dramatically-cheaper. It's an uncommon risk (only 17 or 18 babies died), but who needs that kind of risk at all?
