I just went to a "book brunch" with some girl friends. Everyone brings a used, wrapped, book they read in 2007 to exchange. Maybe try some of these: My Sister's Keeper, by Jodi Picolt; The Faith Club; Water for Elephants; The Other Bolyn Girl. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Something borrowed, something blue! I am young and may like these kinds of books for younger people but...it's great! It kept me interested more than any book has in a long time. It's about a lady who is engaged, has a best friend, great job etc... She finds out she is pregnant by someone else and well...you have to read it to find out the rest. :)

If you haven't read Kite Runner, it's a must read. I just read Loving Frank...it was pretty good. Bel Canto is good. Running with Scissors was bizarre, but entertaining. Middlesex was also interesting. Just a few to get you started... :) A Million Little Pieces...very graphic, but interesting. Three Cups of Tea if you like documentary type with travel/social work

TWILIGHT! You HAVE to read it. It sounds weird at first, but it's SO good. And while you're at it, go ahead & get the next 2 books, New Moon & Eclipse. The 4th will be out this fall. My daughter and I both loved it. I first heard about it from a "Young Adult Literature" class I'm taking in college, and everyone I know who has read these books absolutely loves them, teens & adults alike. I don't want to tell you too much about it--just check it out from the library, and then if you like it go get the other 2. Happy Reading! :o)

Also, just out of curiosity, are you close to the Tulsa area? Is your book club open to anyone or just a small group of friends? I've been kind of looking for one.
