Our daughter loved Ramona and Beezus and I'm trying to think of similar little girl movies she'd enjoy. I have Kitt Kitredge in our Netflix queue but would love some other ideas. Recommendations?

What can I do next?

Pollyanna, Pippi Longstocking, and Annie. Those were my favorites at that age.

There is a great website commonsencemedia.com I use a lot for parent reviews of movie I have not seen yet & want to check out if they are ok & what I need to be aware of, like violence, language, etc, anyways they have recommendations by age.

My dd LOVES the movie Madeline. She's watched it so many times she has parts of it memorized. She also likes parent trap, but for a 6 year old, I'd definitely get Madeline.

I have a (just turned) 7 year old and she LOVES Matilda! Also Judy Moody an the Not Bummer Summer, Dolphin Tale, All 3 of the Toy Story movies, anything Barbie. She also loves Twister (with Helen Hunt) and she likes the older version of The Parent Trap (with Hayley Mills), and she loves the Wizard of Oz and Meet Me In St. Louis. I am amazed that she enjoys the older movies and musicals. The Nanny Mcphee movies are also good!

Does she like princesses? There is a movie on the Netflix queue that is called Princess (link at the end). It was a cute princess move and my daughter enjoyed it (she is 5.5). She also loves an English stage version of the Cat in the Hat, also on Netflix. We haven't watched Kitt Kitredge, but my daughter liked Judy Moody and the NOT bummer summer. I also let her watch the older Disney movies from when I was a kid, like Mary Poppins, Pete's dragon etc.

My daughter is 10 now...but I remember her enjoying the newer Barbie movies. They have beautiful classical music and teach good values, with all the classic ballet or dancing.

And she loved Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and all the Veggie Tales back then too.

Our 6 almost 7 year old loved Judy Moody too. Not a lot of non animated movies to choose from. She won't watch the older Disney stuff. I love the Parent Trap (original), Swiss Family Robinson...Mary Poppins. She wrinkles her nose up. But I loved those when I was her age.

Matilda
Madeline
Annie

I originally thought maybe The Parent Trap but that might be a little involved for a 5/6 year old.

My daughter is almost 6 as well and loves The Wizard of Oz as well
