Good Diapers to Hold in Diarrhea

Hi, I have a strange question. I want to ask advice on which brand of diapers is best to hold in messy diarrhea. My son (3yrs) most likely caught something from school and have diarrhea, not often, but unfortunately in the middle of the night during sleep. It is now 2am and this is my 3rd night bathing him and washing sheets, etc. I need a really good diaper that will at least hold the mess in so that it won't leak everywhere. It may not be a 100% proof but does anyone have any experience w/a fabulous diaper? Any other tips on what can help w/his diarrhea will be great also. He doesn't look or feel sick at all, other than having diarrhea/loose stools about once a day. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for your advice so far. I actually bought Luvs this morning and some diaper rash cream just as preventative measure. Every night now, I've been sneeking in the room to see if there is a mess. Poor baby is now looking all over the bed in the morning when he wakes up to see if there is really a mess, then he says "no poo poo".

Poor baby, put him on the brat diet only. Bread, rice, apples (not apple juice), bananas. Use Luvs they are the absolute best diaper on the market. My baby girl had samonella and they worked for her. Huggies never did!

All I can say is hang in there. It will pass soon. My daughter had this for 4 days and we went through many diapers and clothes. I ended up buying cheap diapers because we we went through a pack in one and half days.

Hugs to you,

S.

I use Huggies Night time diapers. I've tried all kinds of diapers and my son would still get leaks, these are the best that I've used. If my son has really bad diarrhea then I'll double diaper. I don't like using double diapers regularly b/c he's more likely to get a diaper rash. Hope you get some rest!

Well... not sure about a diaper but you could get some plastic panties like you use with cloth underwear. Only thing about those is you have to be careful of rashes.

I know its painful to lose sleep, but its best that you clean it up in the middle of the night and not wait. Diarrhea usually is full of stomach bile and can burn the skin and cause all sorts of issues.

Call your pediatrician and ask if you can use over the counter anti-diarrhea medication for your son.

Hi, I know what your going through I have had to deal with this many times. first off it is probley a bug and will last a few weeks even if it seems to go away it is most likely not all the way gone. Now if you want to try a pampers the pampers pull ups will not work so don't waste your money, You need something absorbent try good nights they will most likely work. The only problem with these are the size, get the smallest if your son is small, They will be great for the night time. Also you should give him plenty of liquids water pedialites if he will take it (my son didn't realy like the way they taste but still try ,it as all the elecrolites in it which is good for him (you don't want him dehydrated!) Also give him things like toast, bannanas, oatmeal these things will help his stomach and also help the loose stool. And just keep some clean towels handy and disenfectant because you dont want to keep spreading the virus you want it to go away.
well I hope this info helps you. Let me know howit gos good luck! S.L.

Have you taken him to the doctor. Diarrhea shouldn't last that long, I would be worried. I would put is him pj that have feet and zip up in the front. I would use Huggies Supreme and lots of Butt Paste (Diaper cream). Good luck I know what's it like taking care of a little one with diarrhea actually once I had all three of my children have it. Fun!! I would also put beach towels down to cut down on washing sheets. I used a waterproof bedsheet to protect the mattress. Remeber disinfected everything too from toys to toothbrush to cups to pillows to phonce-cell phones to pencils. EVERYTHING he touches. Remember to wash your hands too. Remember to hydrate him too!
Hope this helps,
Leti
