Good Cheap MP3 Player

Hi Moms-

Can anyone suggest where I can find a cheap but reliable MP3 player? I need one that doesn't recharge in only a computer. I bought one a month ago and now my husband said we need one that is wall rechargeable but he is too busy to find one. I need it so I can play music in my sons room at night so it will be playing all night. Thanks for your help!!

I have not checked other stores, but I bought the wall adapter for my Zen player at Radio shack.

keep the one you bought and buy a boombox/docking station for it instead! you can play it all night and it charges in the docking station while playing:)

I have a creative labs zen. It can play video or audio. It was around $80 (at costco) for 8 gb with a slot for an extra card. You can plug it in your computer or the wall. I don't remember if I had to purchase the wall plug or not. I think I bought a cheap package on ebay for extras like the skin, arm band, screen protector, car charger... One note, you can not play and charge at the same time. My last mp3 player was also a creative labs (muvo from Amazon years ago), it ran on batteries but it was more for running because of its size but it didn't have enough memory for me. It still works after several years and unlike my zen, it has a built in recordable radio.

You can always order a wall charger from ebay, they are cheap and they deliver right to you.

Did you know you could buy a wall charger that connects to a usb cord.

You don't need to buy a new MP3 player unless you want to. Ebay has lots of additional chargers and adapters for MP3 players. We bought a cigarette lighter type charger for the car and a wall charger (similar to a cell phone charger) for anytime we couldn't use the computer to charge. They are very reasonable (probably $5-15 depending on if you want both) and would save you shelling out more money for another MP3 player. Just search for "MP3 charger" you may also want to add what type of MP3 player you have to the search criteria. Hope you find what you need. :)

You didn't mention what brand your MP3 player is. I have had 2 brands, Rio and an iPod. For anything that charges from a computer you can get an adapter to plug it into the wall to charge it. For most of them you can get a docking station with speakers to play and charge at the same time. If you aren't comfortable looking for things on-line, try RadioShack or BestBuy, just take your MP3 player with you and they should be able to help you.

Good Luck,
D.
