We love THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS cd called "here come the ABC's" the songs are silly, not too baby sounding and they are even educational! =) and I just heard that Barenaked ladies put out a kids cd called Snacktime. I prefer music that *I* enjoy that we can share together...

We love Sara Hickman's cds ... Newborn; Toddler; Big Kid. Each one is filled with catchy-quirky tunes that kids love and grown ups can't help but enjoy too.

I'm married to a musician, so all of our daughter's CDs had to pass a tough test... He chucked Raffi and the Wiggles out when they were handed down to us. They've got to have some talent, and not make us want to strangle ourselves...

Here's our basic stock (you can get them all on Amazon)

They Might Be Giants: "Here Come the ABCs", "Here Come the 123s" and "No!" - I was a huge fan of these guys in HS. They are quirky and educational.

"Jazz for Kids" - if you have to listen to Old McDonald, there is no one better than Ella Fitzgerald to sing it!

Nickelcreek "Little Cowpoke"

Trout Fishing in America "Family Music Party" - we haven't heard any of their other stuff - this was a recent gift. it is hysterical, and our daughter loves it.

Our fav's are Laurie Berkner and Ralph's World. We also like Danny Zanes. Also, Old School Town of Music has a couple of Wiggleworms Cd's that are good too. The ones I don't like are For the Children Cd's, it's classic children songs by current artists, with new arrangements. My kids never really liked them.

We like "Philidelphia Chickens" - it's a fake musical by Sandra Boynton et al (comes with a book with pictures and a CD). The music is fun and non-annoying, and my 2 year old son LOVES it. It's all about different animals.

when my kids were younger(they are 19 and 13 now) we used to get the kidsongs videos and cassette tapes! they were great sing-a-longs. We had a lot of fun with them. there were also the disney sing-a-long tapes. Just thinking about this, makes a song jump into my head! Now it is just rap music!!!

We like the Putamaya World Playground CDs, Justin Roberts and Ralph's World. My kids also like a few of my CDs like the Beatles, Bob Marley -- stuff that's catchy and has acceptable lyrics.
