Good Cake for Milk Allergy Child

Hello, all,
I am thinking of a cake which is good for those children with milk and egg allergy. Please give me some advice. Thanks.

What can I do next?

My DD is allergic to Dairy, Soy, Wheat/Gluten and Eggs. What I do is take a normal recipe and just subsitute the ingredients for things she can have. Like if it calls for milk, I use Almond Milk. If it calls for Eggs, I use a egg replacement by Ener-G found at Central Market (and I think at Krogers as well) that is made for baking. Same with the other ingredients.

If you would like to chat, just PM me through here and we can talk.

Kroger sells a box cake that is milk free egg free and nut free. I can't remember the name but they sell it in the section with all the organic foods.

Check on the internet for a Wacky Cake recipe. It tastes great and contains no milk or eggs. Here is the one I use:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8x8 inch pan.
Sift together:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Make three wells in the dry ingredients. Pour 1 teaspoon vinegar into the first well, 5 tablespoons oil into the next and 1 cup cold water into the third well.
Mix well and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Whole foods has a vegan cake. It is expensive but good chocolate cake.

My friend bakes cakes and she and her son have milk allergies so she knows how to make them without the milk. Not sure about the eggs, but I can find out. Email me if you want her info.

You can probably use Google to search for "allergen-free baking" or something. I've done it before and found some recipes. Also, Whole Foods, The Cupboard (in Denton) and Sprouts (Flower Mound) sell allergen-free cake and icing mixes. One I've done before is from Cherrybrook Farms. I think even Super Target sells it. Also, when baking, you can substitute oil for the butter. You can also use egg substitutes (sold at health food stores too).

My son has a milk allergy. I buy his cakes at Whole Foods. They can make you a Vegan cake (just in case you don't know what that means..no animal products....no butter, lard, milk, or egg). They are actually delicious!!
