Good Birthday Gift for 1 Yr Old Girl
My neice is turning 1 and the party got moved up so I don't have a chance to get what I want online. Does anyone have a great gift idea for a little girl that already has everything?
So What Happened?™
Thanks for all the great suggestions!! I greatly appreciate it and will definitely keep all them in mind when I am out shopping.

Savings bonds, books, or that Fisher Price ball popper thing. Every kid (boy or girl) we have ever gotten that for has loved it!

When the kids are little people buy them so much stuff that they don't even know what to play with.
For my neice, I opened a savings account and put in what I would have spent on a gift each year for her birthday; then when she turned 18 and wanted to have a car, it made a dent in the expense. I just gave her a card every year (that I made on the computer!) telling her that a gift of money had been put away for her.
It doesn't mean much to them when they are little, but it sure is a great thing when they get that money. my neice got $550.00 when she was turning 18

IMO, you can't ever go wrong with books ;)

I second the motion for books. I especially love Karen Katz books for little ones. They have lift flaps and bright colors, and they're just so stinkin' cute!

The savings acct. was a great idea. We do that for our kids, whenever someone gives them $, it goes into savings. My son also got Fridge Phonics from LeapFrog. It has all the letters & teaches them how to pronouce them. It kept him busy for quite awhile.

I actually have 2 suggestions and you can decide. A great toy for a 1 year old is the Fisher-Price Bounce and Spin Zebra. I got it for my son's first birthday and he's 21 months and still loves it.
Another route would be to buy the child a stock in something that she could maybe be intereted in later on in life (Disney, Mcdonalds...) You may talk to her parents about it, but it is a GREAT investment!! Got that WONDERFUL idea from the guy from Mad Money. I figure if he is a self made millionare from the stock market, it's probably a good idea!

Tutus or puppets are also great for your little one! Getting started early on imaginative play is important for learning developement. Check out http://www.mahalo.etsy.com

1. Cloths are the first thing that come to mind.
2. Early Walking shoes at wal-mart for $11...their soft soled with gribbs to help them learn to walk quicker. You'll need her shoe size.
3. My 16 month old loves the playschool pig that you put coins in...about $15.
4. Free babysitting tickets for the mom.
I also like the savings account idea the Linda suggested.
