Going to Pro Baseball Game Pregnant

So for Christmas I got tickets to a Cubs/Braves game in Chicago for my boyfriend. He is a HUGE baseball fan especially of the braves. The problem is the game will be in the end of august and I am due the middle of october. I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if I will be able to make it through the game let alone getting there, waiting, and being in august heat. Does anybody have any suggestions of how it could or could not work?
If I can't go I'm not sure of what to do for him. There is no way I would want him to miss this but I'm not sure what a solution to this could be?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ok so I will plan on going. Thanks for the encouragment I feel much better that its not going to be too much. I probably will check with my doctor right before we go, and thanks for all the tips. He will be glad. Right after we found out I was pregnant we sat down and figured out about when i would be due and the FIRST thing he said was "what about going to Chicago?"

I went to a game seven months pregnant and it was totally fine. Just plan on going, don't cancel just because you're pregnant unless you have serious issues. Baseball games are relaxed, you can get up anytime to go to the bathroom or get food, or get some shade. Maybe try to think of a friend that would be able to go with him on the off chance that you couldn't make it for some reason, like you're not feeling so great that day. Guys definitely love going to games with their friends, and he'd still appreciate the gift.

Assume you'll be going. Most pregnancies are healthy non-events. Being pregnant doesn't mean you become feeble or ill or incapable of going about your daily life.

Wear sun block-Stay hydrated-Wear comfortable shoes-Plan frequent trips to the bathroom-And get up to stretch or walk the concourse.

I went to a Vikings game in the deafening Metrodome 1 week before my due date. Boy was that baby AWAKE! He is my favorite little football fan to this day = )

This exact same thing happened to me when I was 8 months pregnant a couple of years ago! Ironically, it was a Cubs/Braves game in Chicago! At Wrigley, there are a ton of seats that are in shade/covered my the upper deck or the 'roof'. Since it's in Chicago, the wind will help you! It keeps you pretty cool, even in August! One suggestion would be to park as close to the park as you can. There is no parking lot at Wrigley, just a ton of smaller ones...it cost around $30, but you won't want to be walking in that heat! Good luck and have fun!!!

You'd be surprised what you'll still be doing at that point. I went to Cubs games all the way up to 36 weeks pregnant with my first. You can always go inside to cool off. Keep hydrated and dress lightly!

E.,
I don't see why you couldn't go and enjoy the game with him. I know that temperatures might be high then, but just go prepare. Wear simple and light clothing, and shoes that are comfortable for you. Take a spray bottler (maybe the one with the fan) so you can spray yourself when it get's too hot. You can also take one of those umbrella hats to keep the sun off of your face. I was very pregnant with my 3rd one, she was born in September, and I tell you that didn't stop me from going on vacation with the other two in July :)
Just make sure that you have enough liquids to drink while there.
Wishing you the best

I went to the Royals in August when I was due in October. The only thing I can say is dress cool and drink plenty of water. I did fine with doing the things mentioned! Hope you have fun if you go!

If you don't want to go, be up front with him, he'll probably understand. If you really want to go, just take some precautions and you should do fine. I would recommend you pack some water, maybe freeze some water bottles. I went to a game in July when I was pregnant, and the only think we had to drink was luke-warm gatorade. Make sure you stay hydrated! Also make sure you dress cool & comfortable, and don't forget sunscreen. Have fun!

There shouldn't be a problem for you to go at that point on a normal pregnancy, however if you don't feel like going when the time comes because of heat or just not feeling confortable, maybe your husband can go with a friend or family member. If he goes with a brother, dad or uncle the game would be a good bonding event.
Have fun!

I wouldn't worry about it so much. I think too many people treat pregnancy like an illness. I was a full time landscaper for 8 months of my first child's pregnancy. I mowed, weeded, shoveled etc, all through the summer heat. If you are healthy and active a baseball game shouldn't be a problem.

Don't worry - I went to a baseball game the day before my first son was born. Minor league, so not as crowded and not as expensive if I'd had to leave early, but it was still late July in the summer heat and I was big as a house. (The usher teased that I would have to buy another ticket if I delivered before the last inning.)
I am sure you'll be fine! Go and have fun!

I drove almost 10 hours to Tennessee 2 months before my first was born. We just made frequent stops so I could get out to stretch my legs and of course use the bathroom. I don't know how far you live from the stadium, but if the distance is a concern, just speak with your OB. He/she will let you know what is too much for you at that time, especially if you have other pregnancy induced conditions like hypertension/preeclampsia. And if you cannot go.....let him take his best friend, brother, father, etc. Guys ALWAYS have more fun with another guy at games anyways.

You should definitely still be able to go. No reason not to! Could you have him drop you off somewhere close to the stadium while he parks the car? I would also suggest going early. Maybe even a few hours early. You'll be able to get closer parking. I'm sure there's lots to do in that area, or even places to just sit and relax. Make sure you stay hydrated. If they have drinking fountains, just buy your first bottle of water, then refill it at the fountains. Take a washrag with you and run it under the cool water in the bathroom. If you put it on the back of your neck, it will help you to stay cool. I think you'll be amazed at what you're still doing at that point in your pregnancy. If something happens that you just can't go, then have him invite a friend along. You've already paid for the tickets, he might as well use them.

Assuming your pregnancy is healthy, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to go.

If you don't want to go or just don't feel like it, ask your husband to invite a friend to go with him and give that friend your ticket.

I had my baby in october and went to A LOT of games that summer. Given, the climate here is quite a bit milder, but you can always withdraw to a shady section, eat ice cream and drink lots of water to cool down.
I enjoyed going, we have not really been to a game together since my daughter was born (2 years now) - we've tried, but she doesn't quite make it through a game yet.

- If you don't have an aisle seat, see if the person on your row who does will trade with you (bathroom trips)

- Sunblock/ water/ etc.

- If you don't fit in the seats (call them up for the dimensions, a week or two prior)... send hubby with a friend.

Baseball games are sitdown affairs, not like GA at concerts... so unless you're on bedrest.. plan on going. :) :) :)
