Going off of Birth Control ...

I just recently went off birth control, almost 2 weeks ago. I've always heard that you are more fertile right after you go off the pill, anyone know if there is any truth to it? Just looking for some advice. Of course my husband and I had un-protected sex a couple of days ago and now I have signs of ovulation. I'm not actively trying to get pregnant but I went off the pill for hopes to get pregnant around Christmas time.

Now with the signs of ovulation I'm having ... I'm having possible thoughts of an earlier pregnancy than Christmas!

Thanks ladies!

L.

When I stopped taking the pill for the not actively trying method it was 8 months before I was pregnant.

L.,
My doctor wanted me to wait at least 5 months after going off the pill before we even started trying. I think he wanted everything to be out of my system. Hope you at least have fun trying...:)

lol. i went off the pill in august and was pregnant by....the end of august. We had also hoped to be pregnant by Christmas. My dr. said you do have an increased chance of releasing more than one egg the first month you come off the pill, so be aware of that. The statistics say that most people become pregnant within three months, so have fun! My dr did ask that I start taking a prenatal while we were trying, but did not ask me to wait after coming off the pill. Hope this helps!

I am sure it is different for everyone but....When I got pregnant with my daughter, I had stopped taking the pill in mid April (after finding a lump in my breast potentially caused by hormones). My hubby and I were not trying, but we had unprotected sex in late May and that was when our beautiful little girl was conceived.

I think I went to high school with you !
Anyway beside the point, I got pregnant with both my children the month I came off of birth control. In my case it is true. My Dr has always told me no matter what if you aren't popping that pill you can get pregnant Good Luck!!! Lots of babydust your way!

I got prego right after I stopped taking my pills. We were trying and we found the best 3 days to try as far as when my cycles are.
