Hi everyone! I'm want to go back to school ASAP, now that my 7 year old son is in 2nd grade. I would really love some tips and advice from any mom who has gone back to school or who is currently in the fields that I'm interested in. I'm thinking about LPN, Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy, or Surgical Technology. HELP! Thank you:)

What can I do next?

There's a great Prep school in Brooksville, Hernando county. You can speak to them without spending the BIG bucks and enrolling in something you're not sure about.
Test the water here first I know you wont regret it.

Hello! I am a SAHM who lives in Cape Coral, FL; not too far from you. I am currently attending Kaplan University Online. Taking courses at home has been wonderful and very fulfilling!
My two children are school age; Brendan just started Kindergarten and my daughter, Danae, attends Wellington Academy. She is three years old.
I am currently enrolled in the Educational Parafrofessional Arts and Science Program. Their course terms run 10 weeks long. You should check them out!

They have several medical degree programs that you may be interested in.
Good luck! And, congratulations on embarking on a new journey for YOU!

I don't know any schools in Naples. BUT, what ever school you go to do your research FIRST! Make sure your local hospital's or doctor's offices would hire from that school. Also, there are on line courses.

I hope that you find something. I was thinking about doing that too but I am afraid that I would not be able to handle it.
I hope that you are successful! I hope that you find a school.

Peace and Blessings.

Hi C....it sounds like you are looking for something that is short term for school? Some schooling from what you mentioned could take as little as 3 months(MA/phleb) Surg Tech/LPN could take a year or more, depending on your time along with the money factor(as always..money)You didn't mention if you were a single mom or married? (I apologize if I missed any other previous postings) However, it is all obtainable...The YMCA has great before and after programs as well as some other daycares. I went back to school 5 or so years ago and I am looking into going back again in Novemeber to finish my RN bridge. I am not trying to sound negative...it is able to be done however, there is alot of little variables that can come in along the way. However, when did any goal in life become not a struggle at one time or another? Good luck and if you need to you may email me back if you would like any additional information on which "options" I was able to use. Good luck!
Sincerely,
M.
