Go to Urgent Care or Tough It Out?
I am terrible about going to the Doctor when it comes to my own health. I started feeling run down a few days ago but chalked it up to me returning to work. Then the day before my throat was sore and I told myself, I am just not used to raising my voice in a gymnasium full of children. Now I feel like death warmed over, my throat is killing me, my ears feel like they are going to rupture and I am running 102.4....do I go into Urgent Care over the weekend? Or wait and see how I feel Monday and possibly miss Monday work?
**** Went to Urgent Care today, they did not do a strep test but said it was definitely an infection, all they did was look at my throat and ears. I am on an antibiotic and was told I am safe to return to work on Monday = ) Hoping I feel like Me again by then! = )
So What Happened?™
Now that I am around the little "germ factories" is there anything I can start taking to boost my immune system?
Alex ( 4 yr old ) is starting to shnuffle : ( Hoping I do not give it to everyone in the house. Fever just started tonight, loaded up on acetiminphen and headed to bed. Thanks moms....I kind of figured I needed to go but I sure didn't want to : (

I would go ( well, actually *I* wouldn't go & end up being miserable by Mon.) Anyway, you probably have an infection and the sooner you get some meds, the sooner you will feel better. You could be feeling better by Mon., instead of still sick.

Hopefully by now you went in. If not, I say if you gotta ask, then you're probably doing pretty bad and should go in. Strep by the way is nothing to mess with. Especially if you're around young children or the elderly. For that reason alone, I'd go in.

Go to doc. Sounds like you work around kids and I know we have had strep going around here.

Go to the doc. You have a little one at home and if your body is fighting something that much, then it could be contagious or bacteria, and if it is, then you need to get better sooner rather than later. Don't think of it as taking care of you, think of it as protecting your little one if you need to. Good luck and feel better!!

LOL GO TO URGENT CARE! You probably have like strep throat or something which is highly contagious. If you go to Urgent Care over the weekend, you'll probably get an antibiotic and it will allow your body to get rid of the bacteria in your system (antibiotics take about 24 hours to start taking effect). Then you could possibly get to work Monday and not miss. Trust me! I myself have been to Urgent Care (well with my kids more than myself) and they charge about the same amount as the doctor's office.

I'd go. If you have strep throat the sooner you start antibiotics the sooner you will be ok to return to work.

Urgent Care. Don't waste the weekend that you could be recuperating feeling miserable. Midwife Mom
