Information on GNC's 30 day Hair, Nails and Skin Program.
Recently I purchased these vitimins from The General Nutrition Center call the 30 day Hair, Nails and Skin program. My hair was dry and falling/breaking and I was not on any medication and thought that it just must be stress. Even though I have my hair styled every two weeks. After about two weeks I believe I see a subtle diffrence in the texture of my hair but I don't want to get my hopes up.
has any one tried these hair vitimins or any other type of hair Vitimin? Did they work?

What can I do next?

I haven't done that system. I try to eat my vitimins. I've been making this drink, it's so easy and tasty. And I see a difference in my skin for sure. I'd ask if your getting enough omega 3's...Symptoms of omega-3 fatty acid deficiency include extreme tiredness (fatigue), poor memory, dry skin, heart problems, mood swings or depression, and poor circulation.

what foods have omega 3

Green Drink
1 c filtered water
3 leaves of kale, or big handful of organic spinach
1/2 or more frozen blue berries great for anti aging
1 banana
blend water and spinach/kale, then add berries, banana last.

I also eat way move veggies than I did a year ago. And feel so much better now.
Here's to your health! A. H

I have been using Shaklee's Vita Lea with Iron twice a day and Prosante Shampoo daily. My hair has never looked better. I was also having problems with breakage and falling out. I no longer have hair in the drain after I shower! Let me know if you want more information!

Well I didn't try this particular vitamin, my doctor told me that I would get the same results with my prenatel vitamins but the results are not over night. Sure enough after taking them now for 4 years straight My hair (each strand) is thicker and so are my nails. For my skin he recommened omega-3 and after about 2 months of taking that I have to say my skin does seem a lot better.

I know there are natural ways to get all of these but I couldn't get enough into my diet.

Good Luck

I would start taking prenatals again. They are far less expensive and you can buy them without Rx. You are right in your thinking that vitamin/mineral deficiencies show up in our hair and nails, and if you are sure it is not an underlying medical problem, I'd start with prenatals. The 30 day program may help you, but only for 30 days...once you stop, the benefits will likely stop, too.

You don't say if you tried treating your hair from the outside... If your hair is growing poorly, then it will eventually affect the texture of it all... but it takes years to grow a foot of hair, so mostly the hair your trying to treat is already 'out of the loop' when it comes to vitamins.

There are a number of things that contribute to hair breakage -- pony tails, braiding, hats, weaves, extensions, chemicals (bleaching, dying, mousse, gel, etc), temperature changes (straightening, cold dry outdoor air, hot showers)... most of those are treated using fatty or silicone (anything with dimethecone) 'repair' products. You can use mayonnaise, fresh avocado or olive oil if you'd like it to be really cheap.

Some vitamin and mineral deficiencies will show up in hair -- right at the root to start with, not at the ends or in the middle. Hormone fluctuations can also damage hair, particularly thyroid problems. Hypothyroidism is almost always diagnosed as a result of unexplained weight gain coupled with dry, brittle hair and nails.

Taking keratin, gelatin or pectin will not have any effect on hair or nails, because they're just proteins -- which most people get in seriously huge proportions (protein is in almost everything).
