I should research before I ask this question....but here it goes. Where do I find the ones you put together? I would like to start this as a Holiday tradition with my boys each year.... And can you actually eat them or are they only for display. We never had them growing up so I really don't know anything about them. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I bought the one from Michael's - great house! I'm just not good at making it! I didn't realize how much time you needed (30 minutes for the wall to set and 1 hour for the roof before decorating) My 3 year old just didn't understand that. Michael's also had a cooking decorating kit. I think I'll go with that until my boys get older. Thanks for all the feedback!!

I got one at Costco for $10. It comes w/ the frosting ( which btw is pretty tasty!) and all the candy that you need to decorate it. It also come with some gingerbread men cookies to decorate. It's all edible.

We got ours at Albertsons for $10 and it came with all the candy & icing needed to decorate the house.
It was really cute!
It even had some extra Gingerbread people to decorate.
We had alot of fun doing ours but it didn't turn out as great as we thought it would! : )(Our first year doing one too)

Happy Holidays & Have fun!

All the craftstore carry the Wilton gingerbread house kits. Target carries the Wilton and in their bakery section they have a different brand...maybe archer farms. I know Walmart has them in their craft section too...other grocery stores probably carry them as well.

Hi E.. I have seen them at Walmart for about 10.00 and I have also seen them at/advertised at Michael's craft store and Garden Ridge. If those places have them then I am sure Hobby Lobby does, too. I have seen them priced anywhere from 10.00-15.00. HTH....have fun putting it together!!

The Wilton brand Gingerbread house looks really nice and it is at Michaels (and probably Hobby Lobby & Joanns). It is about $9.00. I am going this week to get one too, don't forget your 40% off coupon that all of these stores send out in the paper or you can get on-line. I agree with the other mom that the Walmart off brand one did not look as nice.
