Gift Ideas for a Two Year Old Boy's Spring Birthday

My 3 yearold is turning 4 on march 14 and let me tell you boys love anything to do with dirt and getting dirty.lol. Dump trucks, cars, the shovels and things you can get to go to the beach my boys use those outside to play with in the dirt. a small pool might be nice to for the summer. I would tell ya just to wrap up a stick and give it to him but that might be dangerous at his age. I think my boys would rather play with that anyway. Good Luck!!

I agree. Anything that allows them to get dirty or wet. A water table is a great toy for that age, but I would reccomend only getting a water table, not a sand and water one. That only leads to a huge mess. You can also get little gardening tools at Target (Diego, Cars, etc). They are really cute. Neat sprinklers or bubble products.

i would suggest making something like a gift basket of a few things. balls, baseball glove, big trucks and cars to play with in the sand, trikes, anything that a two year old can play in the sand box with. i would go to your local deparment store and walk around the toy isle, take him with you when you do. it will give you a few ideas as to what he might be intrested in. good luck!

He likes to be able to take off their hats. The book has pictures of the toys. In this book (the link) there are 4 friends sitting under the tree dreaming of what they one day will be. The boys decide they'll be a fireman, police man, and soldier. The girl decides at the end she wants to be their neighbor since they'll keep her safe. Cute. I plan to get the other sets, as all their hats will fit on eachother's heads. They fit perfect in my son's little hands.

Bikes, scooters, tricycles, big wheels all good ideas for this age.

Our son (from about 18 months to today) still loves his Tonka dump truck (the heavy metal one). He, and all the boys on our street (3-4 years old) are always outside either on their bikes or with their Tonka trucks.

I'd also recommend a t-ball set, bat/glove, and anything for a sand box.

Sidewalk chalk and bubbles are favorites for both of our kids (3.5 nad 23 months). But, the one thing ALL the kids on the street love are bouncy balls. Either the big ones from Walmart, the super bouncy ones from Dick's sporting goods, or the $0.25 from Old Navy. They're a winner any time.

extravagant, but the battery operated "drive it yourself" cars are certainly fun for the kids. We've also purchased soccer nets, giant outdoor bowling games, sand and water table and a Step 2 swing set-though Step 2 has lots of options for outdoor play (like a small rock climbing 'mountain') that might be less expensive.
