I am attending a relative's wedding in December. It is the second marriage for both, so they have all they need. Any gift ideas?

What can I do next?

Thanks to all that responded. I have decided on a gift card. This way they can get what they want, or still need.

My husband and I received gift cards and loved them. there are still things that are needed, just not typical wedding gifts. It worked well for us.

I would do cash or a generic gift card. If you think they would be offended at cash do a donation to a charity in their name. One other idea is a bottle of wine with their name and the date of the wedding on it. Most wineries will do this for you, usually online even.

I attended a couple weddings this summer and took a bottle of wine from the year they met (both in 2003) that they could open on their anniversary. Just ask the wine shop sales person which wines are best for saving - not all are meant to be shelved.

Perhaps a set of matched picture frames, personalized, so they may display their wedding photos. Or give them a 'date night' gift certificate to their favorite resturant and a gift card for a movie theater.

When my husband & I got M. it was the second marriage for both of us. Most of our friends & family gave us stuff for our honeymoon (neither of us went on one for our first marriage). We went to Orlando so we got our hotel room, tickets to the parks, a few restaurant gift certificates & some Disney dollars. It was great to be able to do that trip for very little money out of pocket. You could also do a gift certificate for an airline, I know Southwest does that. Hope that helps! Have fun!

It is a hrad call because they probably have all the house hold things they need. A beautiful Christmas ornament would be nice maybe along with a gift certificate for a favorite restaurant. Or maybe if they have a number of children you could offer babysitting servies as well so they could go out alone.

It's always nice to have a new frame to put your wedding picture in.

Good morning, as a woman who has been M. twice, I can tell you even if the couple has everything you think they need..... starting over in a new marriage is as exciting as a first marriage. It means getting rid of the "Me" and starting the "WE, Ours, & Us". So recieving new gifts means they can donate the old "my stuff" to a good charity or sell it at a yard sale.

Do not worry about what they have.... receiving a gift is always nice!

A very nice gift is a gift for the kitchen. Cooking together brings the family together. Have you ever checked out The Pampered Chef. They have great family togetherness ideas and great recipe books for only $14.95 each. Check out my website at www.pamperedchef.biz/cheflojo.

Are they going on a honeymoon? If so, try to find a nice restaurant in the location they are visiting and get a gift card to cover a brunch, lunch or dinner for them while they are on their trip.

For our wedding (even though it was our first) we got a gift basket from a local winery, with a bottle of wine to celebrate our wedding as well as one to save for our first anniversary. It had crackers, cookies, chocolate, dip mixes, wine glass tags and a bunch of other goodies. It was in Chicago, so the winery was the Lynfred Winery. I'm sure you could look for something local to you, or go to a wine shop or a cheese shop. The basket itself was also really nice. I still use it for magazines.

It was one of my favorite gifts because I never had to worry about where to put it. It all went directly into our stomachs!

Cash and gift cards are both great ideas. However, if you don't have extra money to spend, something home made is always nice. A nice photo arangment (snap shots from different times) of the two of them, a handmade blanket or afghan. Hope that helps.

I have tons of gift ideas from my M.-owned Creative Memories business: 1) A small, premade scrapbook which they can enjoy which has photos of both sides of the family. There are Picfolio Max quick kits, which have the pages all done, and you (or they) simply add photos and a few words; 2) a slip-in style Picfolio album which will hold both regular size, 5x7 and 8x10's in one book and is expandable (holds 400 total photos); 3)An Everyday display board, which allows them to keep recent photos or upcoming invitations or grandkids drawings, etc. visible without covering the refrigerator. Comes in a mini version too for desktop; 4) A Picfolio minutes album, which you set up on one side with a 12 month desktop calendar (which I supply) and leaves room to add photos each month and 'hide' special dates or more photos on the back side of the easle type stand. My website is www.mycmsite.com/mindynemoff I offer direct shipping if you are out of my area. Hope these ideas help.

I like to give gift cards. I usually go to a local mall and get a card there, that way they can get anything from clothes to kitchen stuff.

If you don't want to do a sampler with their names, wedding date, etc., and have it framed for them, give them a photo album for memories of their special day then:
A gift certificate to a restaurant you know they like.
Passes to a movie theater if they like going to the movies.
If they bowl or golf passes to a local facility.
A Christmas Ornament commemorating the year they were M..
A basket full of candles, and snacks for an evening home in front of the TV.
Hope one of these suggestions will help.
I generally make afghans for people or Holiday Decorations so I guess I'm not much help!
Hope one of the ideas will come in handy.

I like doing up baskets with massage oils/flavored body paint/etc., some lingerie, bottle of wine, and wine wine glasses, and other romantic type items. Some of the "pleasurable" things can be rather expensive so choose wisely. All of our friends love it!!! Good Luck.

I agree with the gift cards-restaurants are great, as are their favorite stores-think out of the box too---do they like wine with dinner? Maybe a gift card for a local winery.....
My favorite thing to buy for any couple is a dated Christmas ornament-they have really nice ones at Hallmark, Lenox, etc. I almost always do an ornament with a gift card myself whether its a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, whatever!

I think that a gift cert or card to their fav restaurant would be a nice idea. Or maybe even a one to a hotel or something so they can use it at a later date. Maybe a gift cert to a portrait studio so that they can go get family pics later, with kids, grandkids, whateveer their situation is. Photo frames are ALWAYS a nice gift, but I know that I would rather of had ones to go with my decor than the silver ones and such that I never used. I'm sure that a gift basket of different things like, candles, champagne, glasses, some bubble bath (for her) something little for him, just things that would help them relax together after a long day would be appreciated. I hope you find the gift you are looking for. There might be something online that you can google that could give you an idea for a "second wedding" gift. Good luck to ya.
