Gift Ideas for 5Th Grade Graduation

My neice is graduating from the 5th grade and there is apparently a graduation ceremony. (I never heard of such a thing when I was young) Anyway, I would imagine that, as with any graduation, I would neet to give her a gift. I would want to anyway. Any ideas as to what a good gift might be for a slightly more mature 5th grade girl, age 11? She is definitely a girly girl and loves to act and model. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. By the way, she does not live in the DFW area. She lives in South Texas.
Thanks

What can I do next?

What about a pair of inexpensive pierced earrings? Maybe a pair of pearl earrings.

It may not be original, but gift cards are always a good idea and very much appreciated. And it saves you a bit of money when mailing the gift to South Texas. You may consider Half Price Books or whatever local bookstore her city has so that she can get some good books for the summer. You could also get a gift card to Target or Academy with the intent that she purchase a more mature back pack for middle school, as her one from elementary is probably worn-out and too childish. If she's really girly, you may even consider a little makeover at a place like Sassy (Willowbend Mall) or Libby Lu (Stonebriar Mall)if she comes to see you this summer. Good luck!

One of those after-shower towel wraps monogrammed with her name would be cool. I think some Wal-Marts have a monogramming place in their store. Plus, you could ship it in a padded envelope. Another idea would be to get one of those large boxes with a handle that are used for bait or crafts. You could use a paint pen to put her name on it and stock it with some make-up. My daughter acts, and she uses one for her stage make-up and we write all the shows she does on it with the paint pen. Hope this helps! J.

When I was little, we had graduation from 6th grade and my parents gave me pearl earrings which I still have and treasure. I don't think a girl today might like pearls, but jewelery would be nice. Why not start her a charm bracelet with the first charm being something to do with her graduation. There is a James Avery store in the Shops at Highland Village if you live close enough and they have tons of sterling silver charms to choose from. If a charm bracelet isn't her thing then maybe a necklace or some pretty earrings to mark the occasion. Hope this helps. Congratulations on her acheivement!

What about a gift certificate for a pedicure. I took my young cousin, age 14 to get a pedicure and she had never had one. She of course loved it and it was a fun way for her to be girlie but get spoiled at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Gift card for itune. I always love giving books.
Hope this helps.

How about a scrapbook of her 5th grade year or a journal for her to write her thoughts in as she enters middle school. I have some great ideas about both, especially the journal. Give me a call. ###-###-#### My name is V. Godsey and I own Noted Memories Scrapbooking and Cards.
