I don't know my MIL too well due to language/culture barriers and my husband doesn't know her too well either (it's not his mother and his father recently got together with this woman). Any ideas on what we should get her for her birthday? Since I have no idea what her interests, etc. are, it's a little hard and I feel like gift card is too blah. Thanks!
Does she like music? Give her some new CD's Josh Groban, etc.. middle of the road..
Find a beautiful wrap.. like a soft cashmere she can drape around when they go out somewhere nice.

Ask you fil for suggestions. Personally I'd hate to get perfume scented lotions, etc. Maybe a nice scarf or simple jewelry would work out.
I don't think you can ever go wrong w/some type of pampering gift such as manicure/pedicure, facial type treatment. A gift card for a Spa and time for herself would be nice.
I would absolutely as the FIL/DAD for some suggestions; he should understand. Otherwise, you'll just have to "wing it."
