My son is getting baptized this weekend, and I would like to get a gift for his new Godparents. Does anyone have any ideas for a gift that would fit the occasion?
Thanks everyone! The engraved/personalized stuff would have been great. Of course I was too late to get any of that done. I always used to have this kind of stuff taken care of way ahead of time. 2 kids really keeps me busy! I ended up going to the Family Christian Store on my lunch yesterday and was surprised at how many neat things they had. Nothing specifically for Godparents, but hopefully it will show our appreciation.
When my husband and I became Godparents to our niece, we received a ceramic cross for our wall as a gift. It fit our decor perfectly and what really made it special was that it was engraved with a scripture that my sister-in-law read at our wedding the year before.
When my daughter was Baptized I gave both godparents a photo frame that stated Godmother/Godfather and the day of her baptisim I took a pic of both of them holding her and gave it to them to put in the frame!
Go to Personalization.com , They have a lot of nice Godparent gifts. That is where I bought mine for two of my three kids baptismal gifts.
For my son's baptism, I photographed him in his Baptismal gown and framed it with a poem about Godparents. It was very well received.

My brother and sister in law got me a Christmas ornament with Godparent written on it..They are very nice and it is that time of year :)

for both my children I gave the God Parents a precious Moment that had meaning to the God Parent. For example my brother is the God Father for both my kids and from my first child he got one that had an adult teaching a child play golf and it said something like I will follow the path you lead
What I did for my kids godparents was get a silver frame engraved saying "To my Godparents" with the child's name and Baptism date and put a photo of the child in their Baptismal gown/suit in the frame.
