I have a degree in Social care and psychology. I have worked with people with mental illness and in women's refuges. I am currently the manager in a residential house for adults with Autism. I work 39 hrs per week. I do 3x 8amto 8pm shifts on week 1 and 3 x 8am to 8pm plus 8am to 2pm on week 2.
My aim to to do one more year at school to qualify to teach in university to future social workers. I am 37 yrs now and hope to be teaching in my 40s.
My husband owns his own business set up since 2 yrs now. It is a translation/interpreting business. He has 4 languages and hires people with other languages needed for the specific contract. It great that he is his own boss so can choose his hrs but saying that he works very long hrs.

I'm retired and supplement our income in the stock market and as Santa Claus during November and December. I love being Santa.

My wife just got promoted into management in the Gas Company and is working as an IT SAP manager.

Its nice to see what others do for a living.

BTW if anyone knows a photo comapny that wants to hire a Santa, please let me know. Also, I'm applying to be a Santa on cruise lines this year.

I work in the oil & gas industry (I manage a crew of fourteen- my team researches mineral ownership on oil & gas properties).

My husband is a CNC machinist & programmer and is currently in school full time working hard for his engineering degree.

Husband and I are both Prototype Mechanics.... Well, I'm in an office now, but I'm still labeled as such. We both went to school to be aircraft mechanics (not the same time) and found out that it didn't pay and kind of sucked. But it did help us both get where we are now.

We both work in the same shop at AM General.

I run tech support for our friends online companies. I work 7 days a week, flexible hours, as long as all emails are answered within 24 hours.

Hubby does construction for an ex friends wife's dads company ;) He loves it! It's something new every day :)

I dont work when i have a kid under 3, but when i did i was a vitamin/health food consultant. I do murals, painting and art restoration on the side, and i have a patent on a few hot sauces im about to showcase throughout houston. (hoping to add mustards to that, :))

Before being a mom I was a US Marine, a contract worker (paramilitary; weapons, combat med, S&R), writer, Unit Secretary (ER, Nicu, Women's clinic, Surgery), athlete, waitress, cook, horse training, modeling, and a few other things for just long enough to know it wasn't for me or to fulfill the sacred duty of seeing that R.'s belly was full (aka less than a year) So I'll leave them out.

Hey L.!!

Today my life changes a tad....

My husband does modeling and simulation - if you have seen the movie "War Games" with Matthew Broderick - that's what he does - as well as Program Management...

I'm currently a SAHM...I have my Associates and Bachelors degrees. My major was Business Administration. Five years ago - I was approached by a friend to help her in recruiting....it became my new career! I do work on contracts when needed...right now - all of my contracts are in a holding pattern - we can think our elected officials for this - I do recruiting for IT and Cyber Security with clearances...since the government can't get a budget negotiated - I have to wait....lovely, eh?

Any way - I have three kids - a daughter from my first marriage who is 25 and lives with her dad...I have two boys with my husband - ages 11 and 9. I play with my boys and I am their "medic" when they play NERF war or anything like that - i get to wear an Army Helmet with the RED CROSS on the front!! :)

Well I'm a Property Tax Examiner and am able to work from home for the company that I work for. I prepare tax certificates for title companies for when they sell or refinance a property. Sometimes my work consists of mapping out properties and researching them at the appraisal districts as well. Never thought I would be dealing with taxes but here I am. And yes, it's job security seeing how there will always be taxes...... :(

My husband is a Field Supervisor for a A/C company. He's responsible for overseeing crews installing units and the whole set up in new home construction. I feel for him right now because he's having to deal with the heat right now which isn't making it any fun at all. If only they can figure out how to turn the temperature down outside, we'll be doing good. Oh and of course bring the rain!!!

Multi-lingual & Multi-cultural home.
Hubby is European.
I am a local gal from Hawaii.

I have had many jobs. A motley crue of different types.
Have degrees in Behavioral Sciences/Anthropology/Fine Arts.
Have had paid jobs in those fields.
Most recently before being a SAHM, was in Human Resources.
I hate being in an office.
Don't know what I will do next......
life is an adventure!

We are a regular family with 1 income and a SAHM. Not rich, but happy mostly. In between the normal problems.

I am a SAHM. I taught 5 years - bilingual elementary grades 2, 3, and 5 in Bryan, Texas and San Antonio, Texas. I am so glad to get to teach my own kiddo now. I plan to homeschool.

My husband is a jack-of-all-trades, a real handy man too. He works in the electrical field as his job, and spends the rest of his time building our new home. He earns what I think is a decent wage (more than I made as a teacher, and I had a college degree! He does not).

I have always been a SAHM since daughter was born but I am degreed in Clothing, Texrtiles, Marketing and Business. My daughter is 16 and pretty self sufficient right now.

I have been in outside sales and in marketing at Frito Lay.

I volunteer with her cheer booster club and I am on the board. AWe actively fundraise for the year.

During the school year, I substitute teach, mostly 1st grade about once a week or so.

I have modeled most of my life and I continue to model here and there.

Hubby and I own our own company, brokering/consulting raw materials (Plastic). He manages all the sales, negotiations, etc. I manage Quickbooks, all bookkeeping.......... actually CFO, travel arrangements, etc. We've been doing this full time ourselves a little over 2 yrs.

We have a niche market, we have not seen decline even with the economy as it is...., just completed 2 record months with sales pushing 1/2 million each, interested to see how this next quarter plays out. We bought a truckload (40,000 #) of material today to put in inventory and it sold before the truck was even loaded so instead of going to inventory, the trucker is delivering it to customers.

We believe in multiple income streams and staying out of debt.

I am an artist. Mom. Wife. And I try hard to be a good friend.

I Work from home right now. I am working on a few books. And started a new line of art works...This is kinda fun for me...because I am working on a piece that I am suppose to be giving to someone....I may end up telling them I am keeping it! Lucky for me it is someone I can say that too and not worry about ticking off.

I am getting the hang of being a full time summer mom to the whole neighbor hood. I had a different idea on how things would go....Nothing like I thought...crappy weather has not helped though! I eagerly await the Fall!!!

My hubby is the assistant HR director for a major Law firm. I call him the glorified party planner.....He over sees all office functions, parties and outings! As well as hiring all new legal employees the office takes on. He hates it. It pays the bills though.

We eventually want to buy a big plot of land in Northern California. I want to spend my days enjoying every bit of life god has given me...and Although I am still enjoying life here in the burbs...It is not where I want to spend the rest of my forever:)

OMG... now I know why we are usually in agreement. Yikes. I think if we lived closer we would definitely be "real life friends"!

I am a special education administrator, but worked for 7 years as a school psychologist. I loved every minute of it, but I got to the point where I felt like I could continue to try and work around systemic obstacles or start being part of the force that works through them! I work for the state Office of Special Education and love it!

My husband is a mechanical systems engineer and works for a national property managment firm. His job is essentially to keep the mechanical and chemical systems of a major international corporation "up and running".

I am a SAHM until all my kids are in school full time, then I hope to return to a high school social studies classroom to teach, since I do have my license.

Hubby is an Internal Medicine doctor and works like a DOG at 2 hospitals, in addition to giving lectures, being a preceptor for medical students from a foreign med school, and will soon be taking on the role of medical director for a home-health company. He gets 3 Sundays and 1 Saturday off a month...hence why I am always on here...bored!

I went to school for Political Science. I work for State Farm as a sales and service agent/office mgr. My husband was a cook in the Navy for years and went to school for Culinary and Pastry arts - but he'll tell you, I cook circles around him. :) His most recent job was lead cook at a Boy Scout Camp and we currently repo cars in the evenings for extra cash. We have 2 -18 yr olds going into college and a 4 and 5 yr old going into kindergarten and pre-k.

I operate my own Home based Childcare and have for about 14 years. I was a live out, full time nanny for the same family for 8 years prior to this.2 years in a health club child center before that. Prior to that I was in high school. 3 jobs in 24 years, all with kids! Works for me!

I went to school PT for 5 years to finish a 2 year degree in Child Development and graduated in 2010 with a perfect GPA! I was very proud of myself for finishing. School, a family and working 60+ hours a week is a tough deal! It took me longer than anticipated as I lost my beloved Mother in the middle and needed time to find my grounding again and learn to breathe. Grieving is also alot of work.

I like my work as I get to make the rules, set the rates and I am pretty successful at it. The downside is I am tethered to the house all the time and that makes appointments, school events or just rides for my teen daughter tough.

My hubby installs auto glass with a big company. He used to love his job but after several corporate buy outs and the merging of the companies to one ginormous one, he hates it. He makes decent money and has great benefits (of which I have none being self employed), so will stay as long as he can keep his mouth shut! (his words not mine). The plan is 5 years until the child is done with college...then we will see I guess?

BTW~ What kind of racing? We did recreational drag racing for years....fun racing. QUICK racing.Twin Turbo small blocks for us. Hubby tunes cars...side money when they come to us. Most of them that come to us are show cars that want to run well with a good "tune". He is magic with the computer for tuning! The cars are always lovely and I never want to really know what they are worth...scary numbers for older dudes with too much money to toss into a show car! But we love show and drag cars around here. Not so much for Nascar stuff tho...LOL. I need instant gratification...those things take too darn long! LOL

(EDIT~ Sweet! Love the drag racing! We loved having a trailer queen car. Started as a street car and actually ran a technical street class (wipers, tabs, working windows, bumpers, etc..things that add weight and make them street-able..heck we even had heavy T-top glass!). But at 173 mph and 8.73 seconds in the quarter mile...it was spiffy fast! Scary to watch from the line as he took off too! Boasted just under 1300 horsepower at a local shoot out on the dyno! We still have loads of pals who race all sorts of cars at the track here in MN..Brainerd International Raceway. Somehow we always get sucked into pit-crew work too! Fun for a day, but I do like the stands better now!)

I didn't finish my degree, but when I was in college my major was Business Administration with a minor in Accounting. I've done accounting/bookkeeping work since I was 20 years old. My current job title is Military Pay Technician at Dover AFB, which is not really what I do at all. I check travel vouchers. Not exciting & doesn't quite pay the bills, but it's a steady job.

My husband is a police officer for a local Sheriff's office. During the school year he works in a middle school as an SRO (School Resource Officer), and over the summer he works the road on standard rotating shifts. He's also in the Air Force Reserves so at minimum he does his one weekend a month & 2 weeks a year. At the most he'll be gone for 6-9 month long stretches at a time.

I guess that makes us a mix of white & blue collar, but I sure feel like we're making minimum blue-collar money, that's for sure!

I'm 44 and own an insurance agency I started from scratch about 5 years ago. Although I share an office with my husband less than a mile from our home, being my own boss allows me to work from home during the summer so the kids don't have to be in daycare.

My husband is also in insurance, he has sold Aflac for the last 11 years and is one of the top 10 agents in AZ. He also can make his own hours so he can go to all the kids events and is available whenever needed.

We are blessed and love what we do and are thankful for everything we have been given.

I'm a SAHM now with a part-time Pampered Chef business which I love. In my former life, I was an Administrative Assistant way back when they were called "Secretaries". I worked for AXA Equitable for most of my career with a few years working for Goldman Sachs on Wall Street thrown in. Boy I miss those paychecks. Currently I'm a full-time personal chef and Operations Consultant to a wonderful husband and almost 12 year old daughter. The pay sucks and the hours are endless, but the perks are fantastic. I'm also one of 3 singers in my church's praise band. We sing contemporary christian music every Sunday.

My husband is a dept manager for an Audio/Visual Company by day Superman by night - hee, hee.

I was in the Army for 10 years as an Administrative Specialist, but decided to get out to have children. I have a degree in Business Administration, but I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! For right now I'm a SAHM to a 4 year old and one on the way....well actually he will be here in 20 days or less!!!

My Hubby is an engineer in the Army and will be till he retires. I'm not fond of having to move around every 2-3 years, but it'll all be worth it in the end! :)

I am a SAHM but I have my degree in Business Management with a minor in Accounting. Started out majoring in accounting, figured out in my junior year that I HATED it, so switched to Management and took an extra class to round out the minor so all those accounting classes weren't wasted. I was just finishing up my first trimester with my oldest when I graduated so I've never had what I would term a "grown up" job. Several internships throughout college and was a Resident Assistant for three years as well.

My husband is a mechanical foreman for a company that builds mines (copper, gold etc.). He is in charge of all rubber tire equipment, two shafts and a hoist (don't ask me what that all means cause I have no clue lol!) at his job site. He never went to college, and in fact never finished high school (he was actually home schooled but never finished). He received his GED at 17 and has worked in the mining industry ever since. He makes an very decent salary and has amazing benefits. He supports our family really well and I am very proud of him!

Once the girls are in school full time, I would like to go back to work PT as an administrative assistant.

I am a stay at home mom. I've been working toward doula certification and midwifery. The pay is lousy, but the benefits are out of this world amazing.

Hubby is a Computer Network Security Architect. That's his official title. He works third shift, which sometimes is irritating, but he's done it for nearly 5 years, so we've learned to work with it.

We're former military and made San Antonio our home after he ETS'd. There's now a pic on my profile from my sister's wedding if you wondered what I looked like. (I know you didn't ask, but I just realized this site has taken my FB profile pic, lol)

I am a veterinarian currently doing relief work in small animal (pets) general and emergency practice. My husband was a car salesman until just before our daughter was born 4 years ago, when he got let go from the dealership he was at because business was slow (this was about a year before the economy hit the skids) so he elected to be the stay-at-home parent with our daughter. Having him home gives me a lot more flexibility when it comes to my work schedule (which depends on other practices needing a vet to fill in) and it's saved us the cost and the hassles of day care. My earning power is much greater and more consistent than his so economically it made more sense to have me working and him home than the other way around. At the same time my schedule allows me to have more time off than I would otherwise so I can be home with our daughter a lot too. Hubby is planning to try to go back to work at the end of this summer since DD will now be 4 and in preschool more, then full-day kindergarten next year.

My degree is in mechanical engineering and did that for quite awhile. Then got a master's to work with kids with disabilities. But when I had kids of my own I was running short of emotional energy. So I decided to stay home when the second one was born.
I started a Shaklee home-based business. I love to exercise, so I got certified as a personal trainer and specialize with special populations. I spend about 10-15 hours per week on those.
I recently took an engraving course and plan to also do that part time.
My husband is an electrical engineer in the defense industry.

I am a SAHM and I also help my mom with her Herbalife business. I used to work for a company called Keystone Candle (check out their website, amazing products!) where I made, you guessed it, candles! Before that I did a bit of stuff here and there-1hr photo @ Sams's Club, BOMC customer service, PHEAA customer service, child care @ YMCA, processing shipping @ a pharmaceutical company, customer service @ two different local gyms. I went to college for early childhood development and now that I have my own children I don't want to watch other people's! LoL

My husband is a Paramedic. Who 'works' part time at a paintball field for fun.

Mom to 4 amazing kids and wife to a retired MArine, now IT prfessional.
I homeschool 2 of the kiddos, one is in the local HS and one is in the NAvy.

I do have half an education, I was majoring in Psych/Elem Educ with a math minor then got pregnant with number one, so that put my education on hold.
My dream is to teach Latin and Greek, and to learn Czech.

I am a licensed professional counselor who works part-time. I work 3 nights in an office outpatient setting, and one night at a horse farm doing equine assisted counseling. My husband is a mechanical engineer at a medical products facility. We work at different times, so our DD age 4 is not in childcare.

Ive been a sahm forever. Did childcare at home for 27years. I sew and do other crafts and have done several years of craft fairs and shows. I take in mending and sewing for others. I stay home and watch my grand daughter now for the most part.
My husband is a cost specialist, or estimator for a large engineering firm. Hes the one who figures out the cost of everything and tells contractors what to bid on jobs or how much a city should tell the voters they need in bonds to build things like bridges and sewage treatment plants .They have offices all over the world so he travels now and then. He can count really high!

I work for a management consulting company where I facilitate classroom training on job search skills for people out of work, and leadership development training for people in management positions. I am considering doing a recruiting contract, since I've done that before, also. I also write resumes and do interviewing training for private clients. I've had jobs in various HR type roles for several years, and before that was in IT as a project manager and computer programmer.

I'm also a PhD student working on my dissertation in Industrial - Organizational Psychology. I have two degrees in computer science/software engineering.

Student and a single mom. I used to be a work study before they cut the program . . . and I graduate in 10 weeks so it's not worth it to find another part-time job. But I get child support (thankfully he makes tons, so I get a nice amount to keep us afloat till I graduate)
But in my new spare time I am co-starting my local chapter of Cloth Diaper Utah. I'm super excited about this and I have sooooo many ideas!!!
