Getting the Vomit Smell Out of Carpet
OK, so there's a bug going around daycare and tonight my son got it. We didn't get him to the bathroom in time, so there's an area in front of our couch that got "hit". We don't have a steam cleaner, so I got it clean with vinigar/water. And used some resolve too. The main smell is gone, but down at the lower fibers the smell is still there. I just can't leave it how it is knowing the smell is still down in the carpet. How can I finish getting the vomit smell out?
I was thinking of going to the store and looking for one of those products you sprinkle on the carpet and vaccume up...what do you think. Or what have you done?

There's something at Walmart called "kids and pets" that works great. It's in a big while, yellow and blue bottle on the bottom shelf. Works great.

Nature's Miracle is great, but I also like Restore Enz-Away. It's Minneapolis based, Mom-owned business and you can get the stuff at Cub and lots of other stores. The stuff is amazing and it's less work than Nature's Miracle. Plus it leaves a minty-fresh smell.

We also use Nature's Miracle on all of our carpet stains or messes. We get it at Petco. (knock on wood*) I have been able to get out any stain with it, smells too!

Try baking soda--let it sit for awhile.

I second the other poster that mentioned "Nature's Miracle". You can find it at the big pet food chain stores. It is an odor nutralizer and works fantastically. It is strong enough to take care of the odor so that dogs (who have better nasal receptors than humans do) can't smell it anymore. It comes in a white bottle with red writting on it. You use it as a concentrate and can just spray it on with a spray bottle and let it sit till it dries. It think it works way better than plain old baking soda.
