I hope someone can offer some advice. I am in the Omaha area and wanted to know if anyone has ever sold old baby outfits to a consignment shop or thrift shop? My son is now almost 15 months old and has a ton of clothes since birth just taking up a large chunk of his closet. I would like to sell them to a consignment shop if it is worth getting a little bit money. A lot of items are gently used and some have never even been worn. I am also considering just taking them up to Goodwill and be done with it, but wanted to check first if anyone had any good places in mind that I might earn some money back so I can buy some new clothes for my son. Hi...I've sold to consignment shops before (not in Omaha) and found that I could get much more for kid's clothes through other avenues. Here in Omaha, I've sold many items through www.classifiedomaha.com. I've also had success through www.gently-used.com and www.mykidscloset.com (not selling locally). I haven't used any of the sites lately, so I'm not sure how good or bad the would be right now. One other site you can try is www.swapbabygoods.com - I have never actually used this site, so I cannot give you an opinion on the process.
Try a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). No need to hold onto all of that stuff. Save a few fave outfits to pass on if next is same sex but get some return value on that money and free up space in your home and your parent's. You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. It's instant gratification. As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything unlike resale store like Once Upon a Child! They give you points to shop on the website and send the clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist, tag sale, etc.
Hi, there is a place on 144 and Center, kinda behind Old Chigcago on a side road. It's called Once Upon A Child. I think right now they are accepting Spring/Summer clothes. You do get money back or you can also trade off for your whatever you need if any for your little girl. Or there is another store on 72nd and 370 called Big Wheels and Butterflies they do the same thing they are just a smaller store. But there are certain days they take the clothes I know Wednesdays they do and a couple other days I'm not for sure when. But it is worth it it doesn't take long and you don't have to fuss with selling it online or anywhere else. Just a quick sale to get something out of it. Well good luck!

There is a place just off 144th and Center on Arber. In this economy they are very picky. They have lots of clothes. You might want to shop there too. If you use the money to by other clothes you do not pay taxes on the new items.
