Getting Pictures Taken... Im Lost!

I have just made an appoimtment to get our pictures taken by a really great lady. She has no limit on time, woredrobe changes or anything, she is all ours for the enitre day if need be. My problem is she has asked me to think of some different ways for me and my son to be. We are having them taken at a local park. Its older, with no play stuff jus told beams left and a lil creek. I know I want one with his looking like he is fishing but I really want some of just me and him acting natural. Im not sure what I want. We havent had "our" pictures really ever taken. If ya'll could give me some ideas on "poses" what would be cute, I dont want them to posed, and what to wear and any help would be great. Thanks

What can I do next?

Are there any flowers or anything? You might try some pictures of him handing you a flower he picked. Maybe a shot of you swinging him around, looking at the clouds, skipping rocks in the creek. If the beams are horizontal, you could maybe get a shot of him walking on the beams with you holding his hand. You might get a cute shot of the two of you walking into the creek with your pants legs rolled up, if it's not too cold. Another cute shot may be a shot of your feet with the grass between your toes. Maybe just his, I wouldn't want my feet photographed....haha! As far as clothes, I would wear some nice clothes, maybe khakis and a nice shirt for some of the shots and then some more casual clothes for some of the other shots. I hope those ideas helped, if nothing else maybe it'll spark a better idea! Good luck and have fun with the photo shoot!

I would tell the photographer that you don't want a lot of posed pictures, that you want them to look really natural; then she can help you select a really pretty spot in the park then while you and your son play she can snap a few pictures.

I would rear something really simple and classic, such as a black top and jeans, dress your son similarly... then your pics will look great in color or black and white!

The photographer should really direct you...you are paying her to do so. I wouldn't overly worry about trying to come up with ideas...just relax and enjoy it and the pictures will turn out wonderfully. However, my input to the question at hand is to sit cross-legged with your son in your lap and just cuddle him and talk to him, give him kisses on the head. And for fun you can tickle a little to get some fun play shots. Stick with simple clothing (no patterns or logos) for both you and your son and you will be set. Have fun!!!

take a blanket and some of his favorite toys and books and just play with him.

Since your son is so young take a blanket and some toys and play with him for some. Also since you are going to be in a park pictures of you holding him and showing him different things in nature would be cute. Like maybe squating next to the creek and pointing out something in the creek or giving him a leaf or something and getting his reaction to this stuff.

I think you got some great ideas from the other replies.

I would stick to casual clothes. Nothing with a print as that can be distracting. A nice pair of jeans with a solid color shirt. You might want to avoid lighter colors in case you get dirty.

I think the skipping rocks would be really cute. Or just sitting at edge of the creek with your feet in the water (of course if it's warm enough). Or even crossing the creek.

I bet they will turn out cute!
