I can't get the smell or stain out of the carpet in our bedroom. Ive tried carpet cleaner and then steam cleaning them. Neither has worked. I dont know what else to try but it's driving me crazy. I can deal with the stain if I have to if I could just get the smell gone. Please help!!

Natures Miracle from the pet store works great. Or look for a brand called Kids & pets I found it at Walmart and Dominicks. You have to clean a large area beyond the actual stain then either keep blotting with a towel or I use my little bissel spot lifter to pull it up.

I have used undiluted white vinegar. Far carpets, rugs and upholstery, thoroughly blot the area with a towel or some rags. Then pur a bit of undiluted white vinegar over the spot. Blot it up with a towel , then reapply the vinegar and let air-dry.
I have had good luck with this.

If you're still smelling the urine, that means it has soaked the carpet padding and possibly the subfloor as well. And if you can smell it, that means your dog can smell it too, and will probably return to the same spot to urinate at some point.

The only way to get the smell out at this point, is to have the carpet and padding patched. That requires someone coming in and cutting out the patch where the carpet is smelly, and replacing it with new padding and carpet. If you have a professional do it, you shouldn't be able to see the patch work after it's done.

Good luck!

I use Nature's Miracle is the best pet stain/smell remover. I've been using it for over 6 years. It uses natural enzymes to remove the stain and smell. If there is odor then you need to soak it in, literally pour in on the carpet so the padding gets the liquid in it. It might take a few weeks to completely dry but the smell and stain are gone. They also have a new one with orange oxy in it. I recently bought some it works just as well as the original.

Nature's Miracle is the best pet stain/smell remover I've come across. It uses natural enzymes to remove the stain and smell. It's especially good when you're trying to get the pet from continuing to soil the carpet (e.g. puppies) because even they can't smell it any more. You can get it in gallon jugs or smaller units at PetSmart, PetCo, etc.
