Hiya Fellow Mommies!

I am wanting to loose about 50 lbs and get my sexy back!
Ever since I had my child 4 years ago I have pretty much just given up on myself.
I want my sexy back, I want to have my confidence back!! I am so sick of being a Frumpy mommy in my 20's.

I don't know what my problem is but I have no motivation. My hubby keeps trying to get me to go with him to Lifetime Fitness but for what ever reason I am so intimidated by the size of that gym. I get soo nervous around large groups of people. I wish I didn't feel that way but I just do.

I want too loose 50 lbs before The new year.. I know I can do it. I just need a little bit of motivation. Maybe a work out buddy would be fun? Any mommies out here need a work out buddy? Friends of all ages are welcome! Suggestions for weightloss are also appreciated.

Thanks Mommies =)

What can I do next?

I would suggest going with him to Lifetime Fitness and just starting out walking around the track or doing a bicycle or possibly even trying swimming a few laps each time you go - until you get comfortable with the gym thing. I know when you walk into those places it's all just so overwhelming and everyone seems to know what to do with each machine and exactly what they need to be doing and how long...it makes you feel, well, pretty stupid sometimes!!

I would start out a little at a time and take it easy - it will take some time to lose the weight and get to feeling better. The thing i notice is that swimming laps or doing exercises in the pool is much more of a work out than most people think, and you can do them on your own. I also like the balance ball work outs - it really works your core muscles and begins toning your whole body. That's something you can do at home with a good balance ball DVD and while you're doing it you feel like you're not getting anything good out of it but when you wake up the next morning you feel it in places you didn't even know you had muscles!

I'm no expert but i do know what has worked for me in the past!! Doing this along with cutting down on sugary drinks and sticking to water (that's hard for me!) along with eating more sensibly is a good thing to do as well. It's so hard to just stop what we've been doing all the years before and cut out cold turkey those things that we love to eat and drink, AND get into an exercise routine. I suggest you pace yourself and, heck, if you have a craving for something chocolate or sweet or even potato chips, just have a couple of bites to ease that craving and drink a huge glass of water! :-)
Good luck!

You can do it! do you take supplements? by giving your body all the balance nutrients, vitamins, minerals etc. your body will have all the fuel it needs to shed the unwanted punds. I work with nutritional supplements and have helped a lot of people loose the weight and keep it off and stay healthy. I will love to share, motivate and encourage you to have you enjoy life to the fullest.

Let me know!

For me I had to allow for some variety. I love most of the classes at gyms and I would find a time that works and allows variety in the week. A smaller gym may work; you may look for like a Lady of America. It has all the same type of things but MUCH MUCH smaller and ALL women. Much cheaper than Lifetime as well. One site that I used to help get me to lose some weight was at

www.settingcaptivesfree.com
The Lords Table is the study I did and it was great. I was given a mentor (someone out of state that supported and encouraged me via email) and the eating routine worked for me. Really got my metabolism going again.

Baby steps....build on it as you go so you are not overwhelmed trying to undo in a short period of time what took some time to get to where it is. Be gracious to yourself. At one time I did post a picture of a very fit woman on my mirror to motivate me to stay focused each day.......I of course do not look like that but I definitely feel so much better than I did when I was where you are right now.

Good luck and hang in there.

You might also try finding out if you are "allergic" to any foods. It was my experience after my children were born, that I could exercise all I wanted and only lose 5 to 10 lbs here and there. What has made the difference for me is, in conjunction with exercising, learning what foods to avoid for my body. I have since lost over 40 lbs, and it is staying OFF! I encourage you to visit Dr. Larry Davis, Davis Wellness Center, Plano, for more information.

Hey there! I am in a very similar place as you are...my son will be 3 in October and I have really let myself go. According to my dr, the last time I went that is, I need to lose at least 50 lbs according to my age/height, etc. Email me and maybe we can encourage each other!

Where do you live? I live in Carrollton, near Rosemeade and Old Denton Roads and exercise every am. I run, walk the dog or go to a local gym. I would be glad to be your workout buddy if you live nearby. If not, I recommend Anytime Fitness. They are small and offer a more intimate feel. Good luck in your goals...

I just joined a LA fitness and I also felt too overweight to be there. But the personal staff started me off on a few crunches and squats, then I used the bike and stairmaster. After one month, I am motivated to do the weight training class and step class. I reward myself by going to the pool afterwards. It's been a few years since I used to go to the gym and I am also 50lbs overweight.. Go with your husband so he can give you advice on exercises. You are fortunate to have an S.O . that wants to work out with you. Half the battle is just going to the gym. Once you are there you will get motivated by all the members and try to go everyday as part of your lifestyle. It also helps watching the Jullian shows for motivation. Good luck starting your goal!
