Gates - Saint Paul,MN

I use the Simple Step gates made by Evenflo. I found them at Target for $35. I wouldn't recommend them if you need them for top of the stairs as they are pressure-mounted gates, but for bottom of the stairs or to separate rooms on the same level they're great! It's also a nice gate if you have pets since it's taller than a lot of gates. My dog and two cats have not figured out how to get over/through it.

They carry the best childproofing items and other cool kid stuff. You could at least pick one out and then try to find a used one like it.

If you don't mind something used, I would try looking at Valu Thrift Store or Unique Thrift Stores. I have a daycare in my home & picked up the 4 gates I use from there. They usually have a few to choose from & you can try them out there at the store to make sure they work. I think I paid $6.95 for the most expensive one & it is really nice!

We got ours at Babys R Us. It's a Saftey 1st and we paid like $15. They had tons to choose from and others that were reasonable also.

We got ours on Ebay. We bought them new and they can be more affordable then buying them retail. Some offer free shipping too. I found more of a variety than in the stores.
