Garden Question - Bonsall,CA

We are in California so we don't really have strong, "seasons," can I plant white beans and winter squash right now? I am new to the gardening thing so I am not sure when different things should be planted. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Just plant an Olive tree and I will live vicariously through you. :)

I wish I were a few zones down but I have no idea what is the norm for your climate.

In Texas, we are planting beans, kale, cabbage and herbs now.
Find an online Calif. Agriculture website---good source of info.

Depends on what part of CA you are in, when it comes to growing your veggies & flowers they DO have their own seasons, just not the way we think of them as humans, climate, soil, etc. all play a part in their growth or lack thereof...you should be safe with the winter squash for sure but I would only plant a little bit of the beans to see how they work for you and if you get a good crop then you will know about next year!

I live in San Bernardino, CA. Bonsall is much closer to the ocean so you have a much milder climate.

You should be able to plant winter squash, broccoli, beans, green and white, pinto or kidney. You can plant sugar snap peas and have a wonderful crop by chirstmas. You could even start tomatoes and be eating them by christmas.

You can grow almost any low chill fruit.

Good luck to you and yours.
