How do you price your items? I haven't ever had a garage sale and I am finally ready to get rid of all our unused baby items.

What can I do next?

Cheaply or they won't sell! LOL! I have had garage sales for many years and I thing I have learned, garage sellers will still haggle even if you have something priced at 25 cents. Hang your baby clothes, don't fold them on a table. Table gets trashed and nobody wants to sift through. I sold way more when I hung the baby clothes. You can get rope and simply hang a line of rope between 2 trees and hang them off there. High chairs, playpens, strollers, etc. you can sell for a decent amount, but usually still a few dollars cheaper than you would see on Craig's List. Good luck! :)

cheap -- 50 cents a shirt $1.00 for each pair of pants/shorts $1.00 for a set of pajamas, etc. Make it easy for you and for the shopper. Keep clothes on a tall table or hanging from a rack between two trees. (I have NEVER sat on the ground to look thru a box of clothes, esp if I didn't know what size they were). So make it organized, easy, cheap.

I like seeing "All items in box: 50 cents" types of boxes or tables. Then when it's time to pay, just round to the nearest dollar. But making things 50 cents and $1 makes for easy adding as well.

just had a sale a couple of weeks ago:

exersaucer $5
packNplay, well-used condition $15
high chair $15-25 (one was an antique & hard to find)
bouncy seat, the beat-up one was free.....& the other was $3 (non-musical)

If you look up my responses, I have other prices posted there! Good Luck!

I recommend doing a little research to find out the value of items in your area. Stop by a garage sale or a consignment shop. Prices on larger items like strollers can vary greatly. I seen high chairs from $8 to $25.

I'd price the bigger items a few $$ more than what you really want so you'll have some room for negotating.

If items are clean and organized, not only will you sell more, but people will be willing to pay more. For clothing, sort by size. For better quality outfits either hang them or display on a table. For play cloths you can just organize into bins. shirts 25 to 50 cents - long sleeve or heavy material 50 cents to $1 - pants 50 cents to $1

Good luck.

tons of great advice right here for sellers. (she starts with buyers tips first, sellers tips on the bottom of the post).

You can have a table that says $1 on it for tshirts. or a box that says 50 cents on it for random toys. On other higher priced items, you can put stickers. Just be prepared to negotiate. If someone comes up with an armful of stuff, i don't even look at the price, I'll just say, "$5?" and work out a deal. It depends if your goal is to get rid of stuff or make money.
