The room mom for my 4th grade dd..sent a cute email..describing a game she will play w the kids at their Christmas party...she will have jars w small items like hersey kisses..Legos. ..bouncy balls..crayons..stickers...the kids have to guess the quantity and the closes guessed gets to keep the contents (and the jar) she asked if any of the other parents wanted to they could send in a jar too..... I would like too. But dd has vetoed everything but candy and I would rather not do that Sonim looking for some other ideas that dd might find acceptable. .my jar is bigger than baby food but smaller than a mayonnaise jar. If thatbhelps..

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I figure alot of people will do candy..that was the only reason I had against it...just looking for variety. .

You can get Christmas tree or bell shaped pretzels.

What about loose change?

The rubber bands for the bracelets that kids make. (But I would use a very small jar for that!)

Goldfish or Teddy Graham crackers

I saw marshmallows at Target that came in different flavors and shapes.

Bite sized cookies.

Grapes

How about pretzels? The fat log kind. Or get a smaller jar and fill it with marshmallows. Or fruit loops. But it is a party I would allow the candy. Maybe mini candy canes?

How about the cute little erasers kids (particularly girls) get into at that age?

Really though, it's a holiday party and each jar will be won by a different kid, so who cares if they're all candy, right?

(And I say that as someone who is generally fairly anti candy)

I'd let her do the candy. It's a party.
