I moved some 'period' furniture (table) and it got numerous small raindrop stains on it. How can I remove the tiny sprinkle drops?

What can I do next?

Hi Rhonda.
If the table is wood, try wiping it down with a damp cloth first then applying some pledge or murphy oil to the surface. If it is metal, try some WD40 on a paper towel (just a dab not too much) then wipe it off with a dry one.\ For glass, Make a paste of water and baking soda, apply with a paper towel, then use a 50-50 mix of vinegar and water to spray and wipe away.
I hope this helps.
God bless,
A.

If it is real wood, then you should be able to sand it down with a FINE grade sandpaper (100 grit) and restain and reseal it.

if you don't trust yourself to do it - there are furniture repairmen who can do it.

Hi Rhonda,
I have a beautiful wood dining table that wound up with some milky white looking spots on it, I did some searches and saw the mayonnaise idea, tried it and a few others that didn't seem to work for me. What did work was to get an iron,(hot) and put it over the spot, (on top of a thin cloth of some kind and just go over the spot and it took them away pretty quick. Then follow that with a quick polish pledge or whatever. Let us know how it worked out.

The mayonnaise only work if you rub the spot with mayo mixed with salt. It needs the salt to get the mayo below the surface. I've used this and it did work. It does take a lot of elbow grease.

First of all 100 grit sand paper is not fine grit....that is too hard. It will remove the entire finish in that area. 400 grit would be better but sandpaper is just going to remove the finish. I would use 0000 steel wool and wood paste wax. Lightly rub the spot with the steel wool, not too much or you will take off the finish. Followed by rubbing in the wax with a soft cloth. It may take several applications of the wax. Moisture has penetrated the finish creating a cloudy area and the steel wool takes just enough to expose those areas. The wax conditions and seals. Remember the more "coats" you put on, the better your furniture will look. Lots of rubbing involved. No more water.
