OK everyone out there please give me some good fundraisers for my son's youth football team. We pay for the uniforms when we sign them up, but we would like to get money together for trophies and some special things for the boys. We have been looking, but nothing I have seen makes me think we could raise enough money with them. So with that being said I was wondering if anyone out there has done something they liked or know that works. Car washes are out of the question right now due to the extreme heat and water issues we are having. Thank you for your help :)

We are sending away for more information ont hings and I will let everyone know how we did after all the fundraisers are over just in case one of you need to do one in the future :)

I have a wonderful, wonderful idea for a fundraiser and you can get started with it right away. I only wish that I had something like this when my boys were small and in baseball.

How about selling books. For instance, " Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy" sells for 16.99, and you can get it for 10.19. I bet all the mothers would want to buy a few childrens books plus after the mothers and fathers saw the books available in the financial dept, they will all have to have one too. It is better than candy and I think that it should be easier to sell than xmas wrapping paper or coupons. Plus, if someone wanted to sign up with this company to continue getting books and miscellaneous services better than a book club, then the league would receive $35 for every member that signs up. Plus the league would continue to make money off of books that those people buy year after year after year.
If this sounds good to you and you think that you may like to take a look at what we have to offer and how this would work, write to me and I will get you more info and send you to the site to look at the products.
Thanks, M. T.

Hi there. I don't know if you call can do this or not but have you thought about a bake sale or a yard sale. With everyone getting back to school. All the summer stuff that they don't want to put back in there house or the fall stuff that does not fit anymore they may want to get ride of it and a Yard sale is a good way to do it. Also go to a few places to eat and see if they will give you a meal and if so sale chances on them. You can also go to the Movies and see if they will give you some tickes to put with it. Also if you are into Mary Kay they do fundraisers. Also Pampered Cheff will also. SO you may want to think about them. Well I hope that will help you in some ways. Good Luck.

Raffle Tickets! Raffle of a gift card or something. Sell the tickets for $1 each have the kids sell 50 tickets each. That's $50 brought in by each child. If you have a 10 person team that's $500, and if you raffle off a $50 gift card that's a $450 profit. Less expenses for the tickets. ($20) Just a thought.

Hi J.,
My experience with fundraisers, is it takes several to get enough $ to do stuff. So don't get discourage. Contact your local Pepsi or Coke center and ask to sell. Around here the kids sell each case of 20 oz. bottled drinks for $16.00, and keep $5 towards their fundraising efforts.

Good Luck

There are bake sales, try going on-line and looking up fundraising... you will find all kinds of ideas.

I sell Pampered Chef. We have a fund raising show. You earn 10 to 15% of the sales that you sell. Depending on the size of your team and the ambition that can add up.

You could call around and ask for donations. I know the company I work for donates to 1 football team a year. Also you could go to Sam's and buy the big quantitys on candy bars and sell them for $1 a piece, that seems to be a good one.

Have you looked into a portrait session fundraiser? You get people to sign up for a time and pay a sitting fee. Then, whatever portrait package they purchase, the group gets a cut. You can search the internet for portrait or photo fundraiser. I did and found at least one in middle TN. However, you could also ask any photographer what they would charge to do such an event, making sure the cut back to you is large enough. I know some photographers who would consider such an event :)

Have you ever tried Avon? I know you are thinking with boys that is crazy but boys is all I have and I did one with sone of their schools. IT went great. THe coolest thing is rather than get a whole book they give you two choices of a one page flyer, usually in the summer the best one is their insect spray (bugguard), however, also the other one is their skin so soft and their naturals line of bath and body. You could find more about it just by aaking onyone who you know sells avon. I hope this helps you. I know it was a big sucess at my boys school. THe principal actually said it was the biggest and smoothest fundraiser he had ever run. www.workathomeunited.com/myfoursons

Jessia,

Try www.fundraisers.com. They have a lot of ideas. In my daughters preschool, we had a great fundraiser but I'll be darned I don't remember the name of it. It was a catalog of different things and food. The school raised several thousand dollars from it.

Good luck.

An easy and fast fundraiser is AVON. They currently have single page fundraisers that provide products customers love. (And Avon is a self seller.) There are quite a few to choose from. I just held one with a local daycare. We had less than 15 parents participating, sold $1500 worth of product, and made 40% profit. Money is collected at the time the fundraiser is held. The organization holds onto it until the product is delivered, then they paythe representative only the portion they owe, so their profit is available immediately.
For example, even at 30% profit, if you have 20 people selling, who each sell to 10 people, each averaging $15 purchases, you would have $3000 in sales, and have your organization $900 profit. If you were at a 40% profit, your organization's profit would be $1,050.
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but if you are interested, feel free to contact me at parkeravon.com

I'm not sure about all Wal-Marts, but our local Wal-Mart is really good about donating things or at least giving a major discount on things so they can have a raffle on them. For instance, when the Fire Dept. was trying to raise money, Wal-Mart donated a shotgun for the Firemen to sell raffle tickets on. You would have to check with your local department stores and also your local ordinances in referances to raffles/gambling.

If that is out of the question, working at the local Police Department which is adjacent to the Fire Department and not to far from the Rescue Squad, you can always hit up those members for donations. I know when we explain to them it's for the kids' football, their wallets open up like they're money is burning holes to get out. It could be because we're a small town and they get into football as soon as our kids are big enough to hold one.

Hope this helps.
