Fun Things to Do

My daughter is turning 2 tomorrow and I took the day off of work to spend with her and my 4.5 year old son. I'm just wondering what I could do with them that will be fun and inexpensive/free. I live in Brooklyn Center so anywhere where I don't have to drive too far would be great. Thanks for the ideas!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I took the kids to the library and we stayed for Family Storytime and then went to Target and I let them stay in the toy department for a while. Then we went home and I played with them.

The Maple Maze in the Maple Grove Community Center or the Eagles Nest in New Brighton (whichever is closer to you) are both perfect for your age kids - and they will love it. $5 per child. You can google them for hours and directions. They are both like a giant 3 story mc donald's playland with all the slides and tubes. Both have an area just for the 2 year old as well. You'll like it.

Hi, Cel!

I agree with the other posters, but I prefer Eagles Nest over the Maple Grove community center. It is much cleaner and not as scary for a 2 year old. Maple grove goes really high up and my daughter was scared of it at that age. Plus the last time we went to maple grove someone had peed all over one area and there were squished grapes inside another, it was just gross. I think they are too busy and can not keep up with all the kids and messes that are going to happen. Another thing you could do is take them to the Brooklyn center pool over by the library or to the library for that matter:)

It's a little bit of a drive from BC, but the kids' play area at Eden Prarie Center is fun...and free. :) Happy birthday to your daughter!!
