Fun Restaurants

I am wondering if there are any restaurants out there that are fun for adults and kids. Chuck E Cheese is fine for my 3 yr old not so much for us. Joe's Crab Shack isn't bad for us and they have a playground so my 3 yr old likes it. Are there any other "fun" restaurants out there?

My family loves Edohana Hibachi on the southeast corner of 114 and 26/Colleyville exit in Grapevine. My kids are fascinated the whole time by the the little cooking show (fire, volcano, train), so they always have a great time and so do the adults. And the food is great. Better (more flavor) than all the other hibachi places (including jin-beh) which is why we go there instead of several other closer hibachi places.

H.,

Not sure where you live but we have gone to Life's a Beach in Highland Village on 407...my 2 1/12 year old loves it...they have a nice beach for the kids to play and the adults can enjoy adult fun. On weekends, there is usally a band outside and my son loves the music.

We like going to Dave and Busters. They have an eat and play combo deal for certain times of the week. You can check out their website for more information if you like.

We also like Life's a Beach in Highland Village.

Rainforest Cafe in Grapevine Mills also provides a nice meal and kids love it.

I also like the Magic Time Machine! We went for my cousin's birthday (she's in her 20's), and my (then) 20 month old son loved it, as well as all the adults! It's great for kids of all ages!!

It isn't exactly a restaurant but Central Market has great, chef prepared foods and some kid-friendly choices. They have a really nice playground area and the patio is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a few drinks! Thursday-Saturday they have live music on the patio & Friday-Saturday is "Burgers & Bock". They cook up burgers & such on the patio & have beer & wine for sale on the patio. You don't even have to go into the store!

Someone already suggested Rainforest Cafe. My kids have always loved it!
Trail Dust is lots of fun too. It is a bit pricy in the evenings, but they have great lunch specials, and the meals are big, so my kids can split a kid's meal. Plus, they have hamburgers and such if you're not wanting to get the expensive steak. There is a giant, 2 story slide there that my kids LOVE! We took them there for my birthday and we all had a great time!

Hi H.,

Believe it or not, Central Market is a great place to eat with kids! They have an outdoor play area and really (surprisingly) great food. I would never have thought to go out to dinner at a supermarket but every time we do, we have a great time. On the weekends, they serve beer and wine out on the patio and have live music. Kids come home worn out!

A place that is as fun for the adults as the kids is Life's a Beach in Highland Village. The kids love to play in the sand and the adults can enjoy a peaceful dinner with drinks...yeah. Here is something funny that happened one of the last times we were there when I took the boys for lunch: http://www.burbmom.net/suburban-legend/

I'm not sure how far you want to travel but The Magic Time Machine in Addison is lots of fun. They have food like a steakhouse but you server is dressed in a costume and actually plays out the role.
