Fun Fall Activities

The Three Rivers Park District( www.threeriversparkdistrict.org )is a great source of events for all ages, including very young children.
Also, http://www.applejournal.com/mn02.htm should link you to orchards and their events.
It is a great time of year to get outside, have fun!

If you are looking for something fun, cheap and simple, Mahtomedi has Pumpkin Mania on Saturday Oct. 11. They have a petting zoo, jumping stuff, crafts and yummy snacks and food. Plus they have awesome pumpkins for really cheap!

There is also an affordable local pumpkin farm just outside of Stillwater, called Zimmerman's, and they have great pumpkins for a good price. We usually go to the Apple Orchards over there for all the fun, but then get pumpkins from the family owned farm for way cheaper!

We took my son to Emma Krumbee's when he was about one. He loved picking the apples off the trees and picking out pumpkins and gourds. Hayrides are fun too. There are "corn mazes" around, maybe that would be fun for him.

When the leaves start changing the landscape arboretum in Chaska is a lot of fun with beautiful walking trails. Unfortunately they don't allow dogs so just be aware of that if you often bring one along. Good luck fall is so much fun!
