Hi mamas,
I was wanting any ideas on adult holiday party games...nothing that has to do with gift exchanges. Just simple but yet ornery and fun! Thanks!

What can I do next?

We played the game "apples to apples" the other night at a party and it was fun! Also like Kate said with the box of wrapping paper-we played a different version-wrap the box with all kinds of tape-electrical, duct, masking stiff like that, the people around one at a time roll 2 dice and the person unwrapping has to try to open it until the other person rolls doubles, then switch. We all piched in a certain amount of money and the one who opens it gets the pot.

We did this at a party last year and everybody LOVED it. OK, maybe it's a teensy bit cheesy, but it was awesome.
The hostest wrapped a box (containing a gift card) in about ten layers of wrapping paper. One person had to put on a Santa Hat and oven mitts and try to get into the box. At the end of the allotted time (I think 30 seconds or a minute), we had to pass to the next person and they had to try. It took probably a half an hour before anybody got the gift open and by then we were practically peeing our pants from laughing at how mad we were all getting!

Have everyone write down four things on a note card about themselves that not everyone knows. Three things must be true, one must be a lie. Put them all in a hat and draw them one at a time and read them. First guess is whose card it is. Once you know who wrote that card, then guess which is the lie. Great getting to know you game!

We love pictionary but divide into your 2 teams and everyone write down 5-10 things for the other team to try to draw. It's really funny!

Bh's idea was cute! It made me think a little too hard though! ;) I don't know if it's too "college-y", depends on the crowd for sure, but the game "I Never" is certainly ornery. You could also do pictionary and focus on all winter/holiday things. They sell giant post it notes now that would be great for that. Black Jack or Tripoly or poker are always hits too. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas that aren't cheesy! Hah! Have fun!

I attended a party yesterday that the host had all the guests invited write down a funny story from their life, childhood etc.. omitting names. The host then read each story aloud to the group leaving us to guess the writer, thus winning a prize. It got everyone involved and some stories had me laughing so hard I almost cried. Also was great to hear the "personal fun facts"
